The Division Resurgence: Ubisoft announced closed alpha test for its latest mobile game

Ubisoft has announced a new chapter in The Division Saga on mobile. Tom Clancy’s The Division: Resurgence is a new free-to-play, third-person shooter RPG available on Android and iOS devices. Resurgence will be the latest entry to Tom Clancy’s Division franchise. Like its PC and console counterparts, Resurgence will be a third-person shooter RPG, which is set in an open world.

The first Closed Alpha of The Division Resurgence will be held from the 21st of July, 2022 to the 28th of July, 2022. Players can register on the official website, and upon registration, players will receive an email, starting from the 15th of July, 2022, inviting players to agree to the non-disclosure agreement which is needed to be completed, to access the game. Selected players need to have a Ubisoft account. Selected users receive an email to preload the game, once NDA has been signed. It will be available for players in Europe, with more regions to be added later.

Resurgence takes place between Division 1 and 2 having an independent storyline

This title will have an independent storyline from The Division and The Division 2. According to a press release, Resurgence will offer a unique perspective on key story events that have taken place in The Division and The Division 2. Apart from a new storyline, the game will also feature an open-world exploration where players will roam in an immersive urban environment. The game will also feature new gears, weapons, and characters.

Like the PC and console games, mobile players will also get the chance to customize and upgrade their Division agents. Players can collect loot and craft mods to upgrade their agents. Players can unlock new specializations with unique weapons and gadgets by levelling up their agents.

Save New York City from collapsing due to the deadly virus

Resurgence will have a different campaign from the previous two series, which takes place in the post-crisis New York City after a deadly virus caused the collapse of civilization. The PvE campaign will see the players take the role of the first wave of agents sent by the Strategic Homeland Division. They will be tasked to fight with the hostile factions to protect the civilians of Manhattan. The game also offers the players a co-op experience where they can roam around the urban environment fighting the enemy factions with the help of their fellow Division agents. 

The Division Series: Timeline

As mentioned by the developers, Resurgence will add a unique perspective to the key story events that have taken place in the previous two games. Resurgence occurs in the first wave of agents, which the Strategic Homeland Division sent after the Green Virus outbreak. In contrast, the first game of the series, The Division showed us the events of the second wave of agents that the Strategic Homeland Division sent. According to the timeline, The Division 2 occurs in a different location in Washington D.C. about six months later. 

How to sign up for The Division Resurgence closed alpha test

Ubisoft did not announce a release date yet, but players can register for the upcoming closed alpha test by visiting the official website here. Selected players will be given access to the new opus of The Division franchise after signing a Non-Disclosure Agreement for the game.
