- Level cap increases to 75, unlocking more long-term progression opportunities.
- Seven additional Sims can now move into your expanding SimTown.
- Landgraab Ventures adds permanent store upgrades and improved town rewards.
The Sims FreePlay is going bigger than ever with its latest permanent update, the Livin’ Large Town Expansion. Unlike limited-time events or themed updates, this is a long-term progression overhaul that reshapes how your SimTown grows. Curious? I’ll explain it in detail.
The Sims FreePlay Livin’ Large Town Expansion update: All the changes explained
Level Cap increased to 75
One of the biggest changes in Livin’ Large is the increase in the level cap from 65 to 75. That’s 10 new levels of progression added to the game. For long-time players who had already hit the previous cap, don’t worry. This instead opens up new goals, new rewards, and more long-term progression opportunities.

More Sims, More Stories
With the level cap expansion comes an increase in Sim capacity. You can now unlock seven additional Sims. This is one of the biggest Sim cap increases in the game’s history. Two of these unlock at Level 17 and Level 40, meaning if you’re already past Level 40, you’ll instantly gain access to two new Sims.
The remaining five unlock at Levels 66, 68, 70, 72, and 75. When The Sims FreePlay launched back in 2012, the cap was just 16 Sims. With Livin’ Large, the total number of unlockable Sims through levels, events, and VIP perks now reaches 53.
Introducing Landgraab Ventures and Store Upgrades
Another exciting feature of this update is Landgraab Ventures, a permanent town upgrade system. This feature allows you to upgrade 10 selected stores across SimTown. Each store now has a structured progression path made up of 10 upgrades.

This includes major upgrades that increase building quality and unlock lasting benefits. In total, that’s 100 upgrades available across your town. To access Landgraab Ventures, you must be at least Level 15. Once unlocked, you can tap on eligible stores via the Town Map and select the new Upgrades option to view their progression tree.
Each store follows a step-by-step progression tree. You can preview future upgrades before green-lighting them. Major upgrades provide unique bonuses and visibly improve your store’s building quality. Some upgrades expand gameplay possibilities, while others increase efficiency and rewards.
For example, the Pet Store and Pet Salon can increase the number of pets allowed in a single household. Baby ‘N’ Bumps increases how many Sims can live in one home. The Salon unlocks new ombre hairstyles, and Sorcerous Supplies introduces spells that help clean up messes around the house.

To upgrade stores, you’ll need special resources called Upgrade Tools, which include Blueprints, Fuses, and Hard Hats. After unlocking Landgraab Ventures and completing its tutorial, Landgraab Execs will begin appearing at the Community Market.
Completing their requests rewards you with these Upgrade Tools. More requests unlock over time as you complete additional customer tasks.
Town Map Revenue Rework
We also see the redesign of the Town Map Revenue. Previously, small XP and Simoleon icons frequently appeared above lots, and the developers shared the feedback that many players felt interrupted gameplay too often for fewer rewards.
With Livin’ Large, Town Map revenue now only awards Simoleons. Rewards appear less frequently but deliver higher payouts. Frequently tapped lots like Home Lots and Transit Stations no longer generate revenue icons.
Instead, specific Community Spaces and Landmarks such as the Nightclub, Pet Store, and Campgrounds now provide larger Simoleon rewards. Workplaces generate rewards every seven hours, while Landmarks and Community Spaces generate them every 21 hours.
