Ubisoft and Level Infinite have officially announced their partnership for the distribution of the much-awaited mobile version of Tom Clancy’s The Division Resurgence in Southeast Asia. This way, even though the global release is managed by Ubisoft, the publishing in SEA will be done by a different publisher.
The two versions will be incompatible with each other
Many players will be wondering why this method of publishing is being used. From the developer’s point of view, it is best to operate this way to avoid server congestion and issues in offering a seamless experience. Hence, Ubisoft has chosen to opt to publish via local servers in the SEA region rather than the global version published by them.
However, because of the server differences, matchmaking and game progress for both versions will be incompatible with each other. The distribution in the SEA regions will cover the following regions: the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia, and Indonesia.
In the announcement, they also mentioned that the regional pre-registration in these countries will be available soon to the players, on both Android and iOS devices. Alongside this, a limited-time Closed Beta Test phase in specific regions will also be held for Android, for which the details will be announced soon.
Currently open for pre-registration, players on Android and iOS devices can pre-register for the global version of the game on the Google Play Store and App Store respectively.
