Uma Musume Pretty Derby is finally going global after a long wait. The mobile simulation game created by Cygames has been a storm in Japan’s mobile games market, and now will be releasing the English version across Android and iOS platforms.
Uma Musume Pretty Derby is a sensation during its run in Japan
Adaptation of the popular manga and anime series, Uma Musume translates to Horse Girls. Originally, it began as a mobile game in 2018 but has since grown into a multimedia franchise encompassing anime, manga, and merchandise, with multiple titles released over the years, with Pretty Derby being one of them.
The plot follows you, a trainer at racing powerhouse Tracen Academy and then the game revolves around legendary racehorses being reincarnated as women pop icons, known as idols, in a parallel universe. Your job is to help your trainee Umamusume win by guiding her through workouts and races.
Since the game’s Japan release in February 2021, there has been ongoing talk about a global launch. Just the official X (formerly Twitter) account created by the makers has also crossed over 10,000 followers within hours, so imagine the craze. With trending at the top of the charts in the Japanese games market during its time of release, we can expect the same during its launch.
Uma Musume Pretty Derby global release details are yet to be announced
At the moment, there are no specific details about the English and global versions of Uma Musume Pretty Derby on how the game is going to be and even the release date. The game however will be free to play with in-app purchases and Gacha elements.
Testing will likely begin soon, given the recent announcement. We’ll need to wait and see how things unfold in the coming days, and as usual, I will be updating the details regarding the same as it arrives, so stay tuned on this space! You can also keep an eye on the official website.
