Wild Rift Patch Notes 3.1: New champions, skins, Elemental Rift and more

Tons of skins, item changes, Elemental Rift and more!

With the end of the Patch 3.0 Update, the first update of the month of 2022 over, the developers at Wild Rift will deeply look into the year 2022. As promised in the annual live stream of 2022, the developers are planning to make the largest gameplay overhaul to date, by introducing the Elemental Rift. This will couple with two new champions, in the form of Shen and Karma, new items and mini-reworks along with updates on upcoming events and skins. Let us talk about Wild Rift Patch Notes 3.1 in detail.

There are also small updates made to the Ranked Season 5, a new Wild Pass, and adjustments to a few champions.

Wild Rift Patch Notes 3.1: Elemental Rift

Elemental Rift is an evolution of the current map, adapting the dragon and terrain mechanics from League PC, but with a few streamlined changes. There are a few changes to what was announced in January 2022. In addition to team comps, runes, and item builds, the developers want to make games play out differently each time.

There will be three Dragons in the midst, namely Mountain, Infernal, and Ocean. Granting powerful buffs, they will change the terrain of the map. With the arrival of this new update, Cloud Drake will also bid its farewell. It will be removed from the list of Elemental Drakes that will spawn on the map. The Elemental Drakes will now transform the map, depending on its possessed element. This will allow each match to be varied, based on which elemental drake was spawned on the map, providing more challenges to players or teams. Elder Dragon has also been revamped to make it closer to the one in League PC.

Mountain Rift

  • The new terrain in the jungle is forged, along with a defensive wall in front of the Dragon pit.

Infernal Rift

  • Brush is brunt away and opens new pathways to red and blue buff.

Ocean Rift

  • More brushes are spawned across the map along with some extra Honeyfruit!

Slaying each Dragon grants your team some bonuses, but once a player kills three Dragons, they would get a powerful soul.

Mountain Dragon

  • The armor and magic resist is increased.

Mountain Soul

  • A shield is granted, after not taking damage for a short while.

Infernal Dragon

  • The players’ team will be granted bonus Attack Damage and Ability Power

Infernal Soul

  • Creation explosions around abilities and attacks. This will deal bonus adaptive damage in a circle around the target.

Ocean Dragon

  • The health over time is restored.

Ocean Soul

  • More health is restored when dealing damage to enemies

The powerful Elder Dragon has been revamped, making it closer to League PC’s version. Once Dragon Soul has been taken by a team, Elder Dragon will be up for grabs. It will offer its game-ending true damage effect and execute enemies when they drop to low health. If your team snags Elder, get ready to fight.

Elemental Rift will give us more tools to make sure that the game remains dynamic and fun. Apart from adjusting the experience of solo players and coordinated teams, the developers are still exploring more options as to how the changes would come into effect. Multiple changes could be expected in future patches, with the Elemental Rift in Patch 3.2 should be completely different to what it is now.

Shen will be released on the 24th of March, 2022 at 00:01 UTC.

Karma, the Enlightened One

A new support character in the fray, Karma is also a flexible mage and mid-laner, depending on a player’s preference or playstyle. Karma has a couple of changes from her PC version, with a greater focus on her battle mage playstyle. Karma will be released on the 24th of March, 2022 at 00:01 UTC.
