New Year, New Patch!

With the onset of the new year 2022, the annual live stream of League of Legends included a small section for its mobile port, Wild Rift. It shared a number of plans, introduced a set of champions that they wanted to release for the Season of 2022. Finally, the first set of Patch Notes for the year 2022 is here, it comes with the introduction of a new champion, Sett, The Boss. In this article, we will be going through the details of the Wild Rift Patch Notes 3.0.

New Champion: Sett, The Boss

Sett rose to prominence in the wake of the war with Noxus. He will be best played in Baron Lane. He offers a powerful one-two punch, which justifies his physical abilities. A fighter-type champion, Sett can initiate fights with stylish suplexes. Sett also possesses the ability to use the enemy champions against their allies. Sett will be released on the 26th of January, 2022 at 00:01 UTC.

Guild vs Guild Battles: Season 2

The Guild vs Guild battles is back after it was introduced in the Wild Rift Patch 2.5 Preview. Players will head to a new location called Ionia, where they will face new challenges on new terrain. There will be a new Trophy track which will be filled with Ionian goodies.

Some updates are made to the Trophy points:

  • 3 group community missions → 2 group community missions
  • 1 solo accessible community mission → 2 solo accessible community missions
  • Trophy Track levels 1-25 lowered by 25%

Guild vs Guild Season 2 will be available on the 24th of January, 2022 at 00:01 UTC.

Lunar Year Map

The bases on Summoner’s Rift have been laden with festive lanterns and banners at the event of the Chinese New Year. Additionally, a number of new skins have been introduced with this event, which will be disclosed later.

Gifting Teammates and Voice Chat Feature

Riot Games have announced that they will be working on the voice chat feature, which can let players communicate with their pre-made team. This test begins with the region of America and will continue in other regions later.

Additionally, players will now be able to gift players twice per day, instead of the older 5 per day. This is done to reduce the frequent purchases made. For gifting, two players need to be friends with each other for a minimum of 2 weeks.

Wild Pass

A new exclusive skin of Hexplorer Galio will be available in the Wild Pass itself. Other than it, there are plenty of other rewards too. Wild Pass will be available on the 19th of January, 2022 at 00:01 UTC.

New Game mode: Ultra Rapid Fire Mode (URF)

Ultra Rapid Fire Mode (URF) is making its return, which will be decked out for the Lunar New Year. It will have the same lanterns, banners, and firecrackers featured on Summoner’s Rift.

Players will have to guess in this event, whether the champion is Ahri, Evelynn or Olaf! Name That Champion! event returns with mini-games, rewards and more guesses for you to take that are surely better than ours. The Name That Champion! The event begins on the 20th of January, 2022 at 00:01 UTC.

Lunar Banquet Event

Beginning on the 26th of January, 2022 at 00:01 UTC, The Lunar Banquet Event celebrates Lunar New Year. The fireworks are starting.

Dr. Mundo (Nerfed)

The movement of Dr. Mundo has not been tuned, but the champion’s HP regeneration has been restrained so that he can take fewer fights.

Base Stats

  • Base health regeneration12 → 9

Ezreal (Buffed)

Ezreal’s damage has been buffed so that she can take her spot as a premium marksman.

Mystic Shot

AD ratio: 110% → 120%

Jax (Adjusted)

Jax’s basic attributes have been buffed to help his solo laning. His passive is being adjusted to put a limit to his presence in the jungle.

Base Stats

  • Base health regeneration: 9 → 12
  • Health regeneration growth: 0.55 → 0.81

Relentless Assault

Attack Speed per stack: 2.4%+ level × 0.6% → 3/5.5/8/10.5% (at levels 1/5/9/13)

Kayle (Nerfed)

Kayle has been nerfed to bring control to her late game.

Base Stats

Health per level: 105 → 95

Divine Ascent

Wave damage: 15/20/25/30 + 20% AP → 12/16/20/24 + 15% AP

Starfire Spellblade

Passive damage: 15/20/25/30 + 20% AP → 12/16/20/24 + 15% AP

Miss Fortune (Nerfed)

Some of the powers have been reverted back, from Miss Fortune’s recent buffs.

Strut

  • Bonus movement speed gained over time: 45/55/65/75 → 35/45/55/65
  • Total bonus movement speed: 70/80/90/100 → 60/70/80/9

Morgana (Buffed)

Along with a bugfix, the damage of one skill for Morgana has been increased.

Dark Binding

A bug was fixed where the root duration of Dark Binding was not reduced by tenacity.

Tormented Shadow

Damage to monsters: 150% → 200%

Riven’s base stats have been increased to make her stronger in the laning phase.

  • Health regeneration per level: 0.55 → 0.68

Tryndamere (Nerfed)

Tryndamere has been nerfed further, to reduce his clear speed and overall mobility in the jungle.

Spinning Slash

  • Critical strikes reduce the cooldown of Spinning Slash by 1s, doubled against champions → Critical strikes against minions reduce the cooldown of Spinning Slash by 1s, doubled against champions

Edge of Night

Edge of Night is a good early game item for many champions. The total cost is being increased, to require a little more farming. Players can pick it up as a first or second item.

  • Combine cost: 800 → 950
    • Total cost: 3000 → 3150

Essence Reaver

Essence Reaver is being given some extra power, to make it a more compelling option in a wider variety of scenarios.

  • Attack Damage: 40 → 45
  • Mana restore per attack: 2% missing mana → 3% missing mana

Hextech Megadrive

The cooldown on the refund of Hextech Megadrive is being reduced, to allow more access to this mechanic for support champions with cooldown heals and shields.

  • (P) Tinker
    • Refund cooldown for heals and shields: 5s → 3s

Rune Changes

Domination: Brutal

With the dominating presence of Brutal, we are removing a bit of that mid to late-game power that it provides.

  • 7 bonus attack damage and 2% bonus armor penetration, or 14 ability power and 2% bonus magic penetration (adaptive) → Gain 7 bonus attack damage or 14 ability power (adaptive)

Jungle

Jungle Monsters

Monsters that level up in combat no longer gain current health from the level up. Now, Monsters will not be levelled up in the middle of combat, helping in fights.

Wild Rift Patch Notes 3.0: Other Changes

There will be a new set of login rewards for the new players. For tournament organizers, the ability to surrender custom games at 0:00 to fix any draft or lobby issues has been added. The ability to hide the timeline has been added.
