- Xbox adds a real store section to its mobile app for the first time.
- The app now lets you browse games, add-ons and finally create a wishlist.
- Rollout looks region based with latest version differences across devices.
Microsoft is slowly flipping the switch on something many of us have been asking for: a fully featured Store inside the Xbox mobile app. Xbox has finally built something that feels like a proper marketplace on your phone where you can browse and wishlist titles.
The Xbox store on mobile wasn’t of much use. Yes, you’ve always been able to buy games through the app to install on your console, but let’s be honest, it never felt like an actual store. Now that usability is kind of bettered with this new development.
Xbox mobile store rollout seems to follow a region-based system for now
From what I saw, the Store gets its own icon on the bottom navigation bar, and the search button moves up to the top. But here’s the interesting part: this doesn’t seem to be live for everyone yet. For example, in my app, I still only see the old layout, and the Store icon isn’t showing up.

Based on what’s being shared, it looks like the rollout is tied to version 2512.1.2, while most of us are still on version 2511.1.3, which currently shows as the latest update on the app. So yeah, this rollout looks like a region-wise release rather than a full global launch.
This update fits perfectly into Microsoft’s push toward expanding Xbox beyond the console. Over the last two years, Xbox has been laying the groundwork for its own mobile gaming store, which aimed for a 2024 release in July, but that didn’t happen because of the delay, citing “additional market research“.

For now, though, if you’re on Android, you might already see the new Store tab. If you’re on iOS, well, you’ll probably have to wait a bit. But either way, Xbox is finally making its mobile app store run, and it honestly looks like a good direction.
