Microsoft has confirmed and also announced that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is finally coming to iOS devices in Spring 2021 after the arrival on Android in September this year. However, there is no specific date for the release yet, from the officials. The announcement also stated that Xbox Game Pass will be available in the browser instead of coming as an app, due to the restrictions in AppStore Guidelines
On October, there were rumours regarding the Xbox Game Pass on being available in the AppStore of iOS. Due to the strict guidelines of the AppStore, Microsoft had to make it available in the browser itself. With this decision, they are able to make the service available without causing any violation.
Xbox Game Pass is not cheap
In addition to that, Microsoft’s games streaming service is coming as part of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription. The price is $14.99 per month, with more than 100 games available. This launch will technically be a beta test and the stable version will be coming out after fixation of bugs.
With this announcement, Microsoft becomes the only company to bring the streaming service to iOS via the Browser. Followed by, Amazon to launch their Luna Gaming Service in the web browser too.
