What was the collaboration about, and who did what
ShiningSoul is a company that produces merchandise, specifically trading cards, which are based on video games. On March 17th, ShiningSoul planned a collaboration with the HoYoverse game Zenless Zone Zero to promote its trading card merchandise. The ShiningSoul had a livestream planned with the alleged Streamer 奶弟NaiDII!.

The livestream plan was to have the Streamer promote the new Zenless Zone Zero trading card merchandise. However, things turned in the opposite direction when the streamer started dropping derogatory terms and dissing on the Zenless Zone Zero game mid live stream and started promoting Wuthering Waves instead, a game from HoYoverse’s competitor.
The stream lasted about 2 hours, with the contract breaking of the streamer starting near the half-hour mark. When the stream ended, the entire Zenless Zone Zero CN community was in uproar over this breach of trust and contract by the company.
The Company decision and the aftermath
The livestream is still up on the CN Bilibili platform, and droves of fans were refunding their purchases with the company. The ShiningSoul company finally issued a proper and formal apology later that evening and has issued the following statement about this incident. Below is a translated statement for our global readers.

“To Zenless Zone Zero and the Proxies: We extend our deepest apologies to Zenless Zone Zero and to all the players who love this game. During the ShiningSoul collaborative livestream held on March 17th, the streamer involved made highly inappropriate comments that demonstrated a profound lack of respect and caused significant harm to both the Zenless Zone Zero brand and its player base. We deeply regret this occurrence and hereby offer our sincere apologies.
The streamer’s highly inappropriate personal remarks reflect a failure in our internal oversight and training protocols. Full responsibility for this incident lies with ShiningSoul. We failed to demonstrate the level of respect due to our partners and the players. In response to this incident, we have immediately implemented the following corrective and remedial measures:

Given that the streamer in question committed a serious operational lapse, despite having previously received training and instructions regarding livestream protocols, we have terminated our working relationship with said streamer, effective immediately. They will no longer participate in any livestream activities related to our brand, official operations, or collaborative projects.
We will take strict disciplinary action against the personnel responsible for the operational management and content review of this livestream. Furthermore, we will undertake a reorganization of the livestream management and content review teams assigned to this project. We will comprehensively tighten our oversight of all content, reinforce our guidelines for scripts and on-stream conduct, and ensure that similar incidents do not occur again in any future collaborative scenarios.”
Final thoughts
With this, another victim of Wuthering Wave’s notorious community continues to haunt the gacha gaming sphere to this day. Hopefully, these companies do talk with streamers to thoroughly read the contract to them. As we have a saying in our gacha gaming communities, gacha players can’t read, and this was a result of that.
