Black Anvil Studio has announced their latest dark fantasy action MMORPG, Hellguard, with the open beta test now live on Android in select regions like the UK, Belgium, Ukraine, and more. There is no information available yet regarding iOS test or global launch.
Become a Wanderer and dive into PvE and PvP battles
I really love a solid action RPGs with skill-based combat, and Hellguard seems to offer exaclty that. Inspired by classics like Dark Souls, Diablo and The Witcher, it is set in a mystical medieval Europe where demons and scary fairy tale monsters are dragging the world into the Darkness.
You play as a Wanderer from the ancient order of HellGuard who can resist the Darkness. Now, I do want to try the 12 playable characters, each bringing own talents, progression, and even complex backstories. With them, it’ll be fun to take on monster hordes and bosses in PvE mode or other players in PvP mode.
You can experience unpredictable combat scenarios while exploring dynamic procedural dungeons
There may not be a static open world, but I actually prefer what we get instead. For instance, with the procedurally generated locations with shifting dungeon layouts, random enemy placements, diverse weather, and day/night cycle, no two runs will feel the same to you. While battling, you’ll even face unpredictable combat scenarios.
While the large-scale PvP battles and arena duels do look cool, I’m more interested in the co-op dungeon exploration and massive PvP raid battles. Overall, the game looks very promising with its stunning visuals, detailed characters, hero progression, gears, endgame content, and more.
Hellguard is now available thanks to an open beta test on Android in select regions like the UK, Belgium, Ukraine, and more. And, if you reside in any of those regions, you can go ahead and download the game via the Google Play Store, while others can pre-register for it.
