What is HoYofest? It is a themed cafe collaboration featuring popular games from HoYoverse. The first iteration of HoYofest was in 2021 and featured Honkai Impact 3rd, Genshin Impact and Tears of Themis. The second iteration in 2022 also featured the same games. Recently, the official Genshin Impact Twitter page announced that HoYofest 2023 will be starting soon, celebrating the various games from the HoYoverse universe.
What we can expect from HoYofest 2023
In the past, 6 cafes from 6 South Asian countries had joined the collab. These countries are:
- Indonesia
- Malaysia
- Philippines
- Thailand
- Singapore
- Vietnam
During the collab event, these cafes were redecorated with themes inspired by HoYoverse games and served food that is found in HoYoverse games. There were also cardboard standups of popular HoYoverse characters. Another notable attraction was merch based on cute characters from Genshin and Honkai Impact.
This year, Honkai: Star Rail has joined the ranks of popular HoYoverse games, so we can expect it to have a heavy presence during this year’s event. We can already see Pom Pom (mascot of Honkai: Star Rail) on the HoYofest 2023 promo art right alongside Paimon (mascot of Genshin Impact) and Ai-Chan (mascot of Honkai Impact 3rd).

The details about the names and locations of each cafe, as well as the menu and pricing of the food will be revealed soon. In the past two years, HoYoverse has changed the cafe they collaborated with, and they have changed the menu too.
The collaboration event takes place in multiple phases, one phase for each game they are showcasing. Fans may have to pick and choose which phase they want to attend. Although there is no limitation, it might be difficult to get the event-exclusive food on the spot. Reservations, if available, are advised.

Last, but not the least, this is the first HoYofest for Honkai: Star Rail. This game was a major success on release, receiving 20 million downloads in a single day. For comparison, Genshin Impact received 17 million downloads within the first four days. We can expect this game to have a greater presence than even Honkai Impact 3rd. Since this time another game is joining the ranks, this year’s HoYofest will likely last longer than before.
