Two of the biggest names in the Philippine Wild Rift competitive scene released their roster. Bren Esports and Omega Esports, after a decent journey with their roster in Wild Rift, both the teams decided not to continue the journey with their current players. This means none of the teams in the current MPL-PH has active Wild Rift teams anymore.
No MPL-PH team has a Wild Rift roster now
Bren Esports signed the roster last March for MPL-PH Season 8. The team was struggling to bring any trophy for the organization. Coming second in the PPGL 2021 Fall Split: Group A was the highest success for the team so far. On the last day of September, the team released two players namely Cosmo, and Bucks from the team. And just after some weeks, they decided to disband their entire roster.
Omega Esports, following the path of Bren, also decided to release their Wild Rift roster. Unlike Bren, the team has quite some achievements to showcase. Formed last January, the team continued to show consistent performance. They came up as the champion of Wild Rift SEA Icon Series Philippines Summer Season – South Luzon. JLC, and Impressive left the team last September. And now, the organization releases the rest four.
Sunsparks picked up ex-Bren
Sunsparks Esports picked up the ex-Bren immediately after the disbandment of the team. Bren released six members from the team where Sunsparks picked up five. Now the roster stands as follows.
- Ace (Jungle)
- Kurt “Rebengga” Cristobal (Jungle)
- Haze (Mid)
- Mjan (Dragon)
- Konsi (Support)
Now the equation stands for Sunsparks is to show dominant performance. The journey won’t be an easy one as the team failed to do so while they were under Bren’s banner. However, we don’t know anything about the plan of both organizations regarding the Wild Rift competitive scene.
