emTek StormX started the tournament being on par with the extremely consistent Damwon, in fact, people also started to pick them as favorites to win the event. But on the last day, we saw a considerable drop in their performance and they went from being title challengers to finishing in third place.

Meanwhile, DS Gaming kept up their streak of top-ten finishes and quietly overtook emTek StormX and arose as the new challenger to Damwon Gaming. But in the end, it was Damwon who asserted dominance with help from their star player Forest who gave an impressive show of firepower in the three days of the tournament.

Damwon Gaming takes home a fair share of the prize pool

The event featured a total prize pool of $69,418. From the Korean region, Damwon Gaming and emTek StormX started the tournament after already earning their place in the third installment of PMGC, with one slot left open for one remaining team. DSGaming grabbed this slot and we will therefore see them represent South Korea alongside their peers at the upcoming PMGC.

Final Thoughts

The PMPS was indeed a great tournament and the finale was one worthy of the pomp and show it was conducted with. After 4 seasons of competition, the grand finals offered the final and the biggest set of prizes for the teams which everyone fought for till the end. But unfortunately, there could only be one winner and Damwon deservedly took the trophy home this time.
