Fortnite: Epic Games announced Galaxy Cup 2.0 in partnership with Samsung

The event will be available exclusively to Android users

The Galaxy Cup, which was introduced to Fortnite on mobile last year in a collaboration with Samsung, is back again this year with its second season, named Galaxy Cup 2.0. Epic Games has announced that this tournament will give players the opportunity to acquire the Galaxy Grappler skin, Vortexual Wrap, and the Hands of the Galaxy back bling. Moreover, for those players who aren’t serious grinders, they can choose to receive a Llamalaxy Spray by crossing the 20 point mark on August 29th, 2021. Thus, it is very much clear that a major collaboration will be coming with its own perks for the players in the form of skins and a tournament for them to enjoy.

Score points by winning matches in the Fortnite Galaxy Cup 2.0

This tournament, which will be available exclusively to Android users, will take place on August 29th, 2021, and will feature Galaxy-themed skins and in-game accessories. The tournament will be held in the solo format and instead of the usual battle royale mode, the event will be held in the Arsenal limited-time game mode.

The players will be allowed a period of 3 hours in which they are expected to complete 25 matches in the specific game mode and obtain points. After the 3 hours, time limit is over and the required 25 matches have been played, the final scores of a player will be pitched against all the other players of that particular region to decide a winner from among all those who participated.

The reason why Arsenal mode is being considered instead of the regular battle royale mode is because of its shorter match span and superior popularity of the Arsenal limited-time mode. In this mode, players will be handed a preset weapon which will be switched after each successful elimination by the player until they are left with nothing but a traditional Fortnite Pickaxe.

Each elimination mode will count as one point to the player whereas winning the Victory Royale will fetch the player 7 additional points along with the elimination points. Also, joining a match in the event will also get the player 1 point by default.

And it is pertinent to say that Fortnite has also planned beforehand to ensure that those who are unable to participate in the event are able to claim a share of the rewards as well. As they have announced, the players will be able to buy exclusive skins and items from the in-game shop at a later date after the Galaxy Cup 2.0 ends, but the date hasn’t been announced as of yet.

Conclusion

Fortnite, as the face of Epic Games, is one of the most widely played online multiplayer games in the world and has contributed to much of the success of the company. In return for the support and love shown by the fans, Epic Games have made the game even more vibrant, unique, and an overall enjoyable experience through their multiple collaborations with prominent shows, movies, and pop culture celebrities across the world.

With each such event, the players can get more and more exciting skins and enjoy the aspects of the game which is one of the main reasons behind the game’s popularity. And this time, the collaboration with Samsung to host the Galaxy Cup 2.0 is one such venture and is hoped to be yet another enjoyable and inclusive event for the players.
