Pokémon Unite is going to hold two official tournaments of the game this winter. Sponsored by JCG with the cooperation of Pokemon Co., Ltd, the event is named the Pokémon UNITE Winter Tournament 1st and 2nd. Application is live from today for the first tournament, which will be held on December 4 and 5. Each event is divided into two Blocks and will be held online. Schedule
As mentioned above, entries for the first event are live now and will run till November 29. The second tournament, on the other hand, will open entries on December 5 to run till December 20. But the players have to keep in mind that the period may be changed or shortened depending on the application status. However, Block A of the first tournament will be held on Saturday, December 4, and Block B on Sunday, December 5. Similar to the entry period, the event schedule is subject to change.
Event Format
The event will follow a single-elimination tournament method in which matches from the first round to the quarterfinals will be a BO1 (1 match first match). Next, matches up to the semifinals and finals will follow BO3 format (2 matches first match).
Teams
Each event will feature a maximum of 512 teams. If the number of entries exceeds 512, the participating teams will be decided by lottery. Even if a missing team appears after the participating teams are confirmed, the lottery will not be performed again. Each team can register 5-6 people.
Pokémon Unite 1st Winter Tournament: Additional information
- All matches will be held in Remoat Stadium following Standard Battle-Friend Match.
- Only players with the latest version of Nintendo Switch/Smartphone version Pokemon Unite can participate.
- The team representative must be 16 years old or older at the time of application for this tournament. And, any team members under 20 years old at the time of applying for this tournament must have consented to participate from the player’s guardian.
- Players must follow these guidelines if they want to make any content out of the matches.
- If the same player is ranked high in multiple teams, the tournament management will select the invited team according to the situation.
