Pokémon Unite India Open 2022: Schedule, format, prize pool, and more

One of the grandest tournaments in the history of the game in India.

One of the biggest MOBA esports competitions in the nation to date, the Pokémon Unite India Open 2022 has been announced by Jet Skyesports in collaboration with The Pokémon Company. Teams from all over the nation can participate in open qualifying for the Pokémon Unite India Open 2022. The top two teams will proceed to the National Finals. A LAN competition will take place in Mumbai in mid-December after they have competed in various stages.

Pokémon Unit India Open 2022: Format and schedule

The complete schedule for the Pokémon UNITE India Open 2022 is as follows:

  • Registrations: November 7 to 18
  • Zonal Qualifiers: November 19 to 25
  • Zonal Finals: November 26 and 27
  • National Playoffs: November 27 to December 11 
  • National Finals (LAN): Mid-December

On the official Skyesports website, registration for the tournament will begin on November 5 and remain open through November 18, 2022. To give the greatest number of players the chance to compete, the qualifications will be held independently in six different regions of the nation. These areas include:

  • South India 
  • North India 
  • East India 
  • West India 
  • Central India 
  • North East India

Teams who register will have to compete in the zonal qualifiers and finals from November 21 to December 2, 2022. The top four teams from each zone will then advance to the National Playoffs, which will be live streamed, and will happen from Dec. 3 to 13. Besides the coveted title of being the winners, the teams will fight for a humongous prize pool of $27195, which represents one of the biggest figures for the title in India.

Finally, from here the top two teams of India will battle it out for the title in an intense LAN National Finals in Mumbai later in December. The Pokémon UNITE India Open 2022 LAN Finals will happen during the Skyesports Championship 4.0. Additionally, adding to the excitement, it will be open to a live audience.

How to Register for Pokémon Unite India Open 2022

All players above the age of 16 years old and residing in India can register for the tournament.
Players have to select one of six zones while registering for the tournament. These zones are
as follows:

  • North Zone: Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Delhi, Ladakh, and Jammu and Kashmir
  • East Zone: Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and West Bengal
  • West Zone: Goa, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Dadra and Nagar / Haveli / Daman and Diu
  • South Zone: Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, and Puducherry
  • Central Zone: Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand
  • North East Zone: Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, and Sikkim

Each team must have at least five players. You can add two more optional substitute players as
well. A minimum of three players from each registered roster must reside in the same region.
Failure to do so will result in disqualification.

You can register for the Pokémon UNITE India Open 2022 on the official Skyesports website.
Make sure to fill out the form correctly. Players are also required to upload a valid Address Proof
to ascertain their identities and location of residence.

Once you have filled out the form, check the tick box for the terms and conditions after reading them. Then, click on Submit. After registering, make sure to join the Skyesports India Discord server for communication regarding the qualifiers and schedule. The Zonal Qualifiers will begin on Nov. 21.
