PUBG Mobile is crawling close to the end of the 2024 esports season and is already on the run to carry out international events. Ahead of the PMWC 2024, PUBG Mobile is going to introduce the official power ranking for the esports teams. The upcoming event of PMWC 2024 will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia featuring 63 teams and a prize pool of $3,000,000. However, the date when the ranking will be published isn’t revealed yet. PUBG Mobile has said to unveil it this weekend.
PUBG Mobile power ranking for esports teams will focus on the top teams and their mind-blowing talent
The power ranking that PUBG Mobile is going to publish for the esports teams will connect the run to the PUBG MOBILE World Cup (PMWC) 2024. The soon-to-be-ranked teams will get their position based on past performance which will highlight the top contenders.
This is the first time the game is doing an official ranking to hype the fans more ahead of an international event. “Keeping track of these talented displays, the release of the Team Power Rankings will provide fans with invaluable insight as we head into the PUBG MOBILE World Cup (PMWC) as part of the Esports World Cup this summer“, said James Yang, Senior Director of Global Esports at Level Infinite.
As mentioned earlier, the ranking will be based on the past performances of a team. There will be three seasons i.e. Spring, Summer, and Winter when this ranking will be updated. Based on points secured in three of the most recent major PUBG MOBILE tournaments and reflect wins, placements, and standout performances, the game will update the ranking each season.
This includes the main event of the 2023 PUBG MOBILE World Invitational (PMWI), the League stage and grand finals of the 2023 PUBG MOBILE Global Championship (PMGC), and the incredible performances of the 2024 PUBG MOBILE Global Open (PMGO) main event in Brazil.
Highest-tier events hold more significance in determining the ranking points
Based on the gravity and significance of an event in the game’s esports scenario, points will be allocated to the teams to determine the power ranking. Being the top-tier event, the PMWC holds the highest influence. A team’s total earned points in the PMWI/PMWC will be divided by the maximum total points in those events. Then it will be multiplied by 300 to determine the points. In the same manner, the coefficient number will be 200 for the PMGO.
However, the PMGC will carry the highest dominance in determining the points as the league stage of the event will feature 200 as the coefficient value and for the grand finals, it will be 300. The points system for the teams that directly qualify for the PMGC grand finals will work differently. These teams will be awarded compensation points which are based on the average scores of the third-placed teams in the three groups of the league.
Finally, fans will be eagerly waiting to see which team dominates the top place with astonishing performances and unrealistic action in international events. The first official ranking will impact the esports world of the game as well as the fans.
