The Philippines and Indonesia won gold medals at the 32nd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Male and Female category. The MLBB esports competitions took place from May 10 to May 14 at the NABA Theatre in Nagaworld 2, Phnom Penh.
Team Philippines edged past Malaysia to clinch gold for the 3rd time at the 32nd SEA Games
In the Male Category, Team Philippines defeated Malaysia 3:0 in a sweep in a best-of-five (Bo5) series. Angelo Kyle D. Arcangel, Michael Angelo E. Sayson, Marco Stephen B. Requitiano, David Charles L. Canon, Rowgien Stimpson N. Unigo, and Nowee C. Macasa were the representatives of the nation. Francis “Ducky” Glindro and Vrendon Lin are the team’s coaches.
The Philippines has now won three gold medals at the biennial SEA Games tournament, defeating eight other nations. Angelo Kyle D. Arcangel, the team captain, has become the first Southeast Asian player to win two gold medals in MLBB history.

Team Malaysia settled for a silver finish in second place. Teams Myanmar and Cambodia took third and fourth place, respectively, and were awarded bronze medals.
Indonesia defeated the Philippines to win the gold in the Female category
On May 11, 2023, Indonesia defeated the Philippines 3:2 in a best-of-five (Bo5) match series for the Female category. Team Indonesia was represented by Vivi Indrawaty, Viorelle Valencia Chen, Cindy Laurent Siswanto, Isnaini Nurfajrih Machdita, Venny Lim, and Michelle Denise Siswanto.
Coach Tasia Eda Lestari served as their leader. According to Esports Charts, the female tournament had the highest peak concurrent viewership ever (1,367,274), making it the most viewed female esports event ever.
Teams Malaysia and Vietnam had to settle for third and fourth places and bronze medals, while Team Philippines earned a seat on the podium with silver.

An independent women’s MLBB tournament was presented for the first time at the Southeast Asian multi-sport event. Six (6) teams altogether participated, including Laos and Cambodia, the host nation. Fans of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports may still anticipate thrilling matches in June as Cambodia will once again serve as the host country for the forthcoming MSC 2023.
