After seeing a number of exciting matches and close Mobile Legends battles, the city of Dubai saw Thrones Esport taking the crown of the champions for MPL-MENA Fall 2022 edition. The winners of the competition took home prize money of $28,600 USD and a spot in the Mobile Legends M4 World Championship.
His Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Bin Shakhbout Al Nahyan, President of Emirates Esports said, “The UAE is fortunate to have a world-class appeal to organize a competitive esports event such as
the MPL MENA to promote local talent to a global level.” He also added, “Our nation can also rely on the dedication of industry experts like ESME and MOONTON Games, both private and collective, federated around the Emirates Esports association, whose model we hope can serve as an inspiration for other ecosystems globally.”
Mobile Legends MPL-MENA Fall 2022: Thrones Esport and their run as champions
In the Group Stage of the tournament, Thrones Esport ended up as the leader of the group stage along with AXE with 15 points in their bag. The teams of Thrones Esport and AXE went head-to-head 3 times throughout the whole tournament. Facing each other in the Upper-bracket final, Throne Esports defeated AXE by a scoreline of 2-1, pushing the latter down into the lower bracket. AXE got a victory in the Lower-bracket final, and faced off their rivals in the Grand finals of the tournament. This battle saw Throne Esport finish their opponents by a scoreline of 3-1, clinching the title.
The title of the MVP of the Grand Finals was awarded to Maro from Throne Esports, who was rewarded with $2,000 USD. The tournament will also see Throne Esport entering the MLBB M4 World Championship, to be held in the city of Jakarta. The tournament with a hefty prize pool of USD $800,000 prize pool will see the best 16 Mobile Legends teams from the world compete to be crowned as the best.
