About the Wild Rift Asia Brawl 2021

The format was rather public-friendly, with the teams being defined by open qualifiers. 24 teams signed up and fiercely battled against themselves, with only the 16 best results being qualified. After that, the show went on to the group stage, with the teams split into groups of 4 and only the top 2 advancing. From February 4th until today we have had the playoffs, with Double Elimination format through Best of Three games. the semifinals were a best of five and the grand finals were best of 7.

How Omega Esports went on to become the champions

Throughout this whole journey, Omega presented outstanding performance, placing the top on each and every stage of the competition. They started their run on the Open Qualifiers with 5 wins and no defeats, went to the group stage, and scored 2-1 overall victory with 5 matches won and 2 lost. From there, they went to the upper brackets ravaging through their opponents (one of which was Nexplay) and made their way to the Grand Finals where they made themselves the champions on the sixth game of the best of seven.

Credit is due to their opponents, NexPlay Esports, who was beaten in the semifinals and got their ticket back to the Grand Finals by finishing the teams that fell to Omega. In an impressive dispute, they managed to win the first game and stop the winning streak of omega, granting to themselves the first and fifth game. But as the game went on to the sixth round, the composition Omega Composition won at 15 minutes, taking with them the first-place prize of 800 US Dollars.

The competition brought some good omens to the enthusiasts, as we saw names like Alliance get to the group stage. Who knows what we can expect from the regional leagues and even events like the MSI and the Worlds?
