Angry Birds Racing Beginners Guide and Tips

Welcome to downhill racing on Piggy Island!

Angry Birds Racing is a multiplayer arcade racing game where players use Angry Birds characters as racers. The game is quite simple, just like the old angry birds game but with a tweak. Earlier, players were used to running riot in the Pigs’ palaces. Now the equation remains the same but in a more speedy way. Players will not only destroy Pigs’ houses but also make their way to the finishing line. In this beginners guide, we are going to discuss the basic gameplay and some tips and tricks of Angry Birds Racing.

Gameplay Overview

The gameplay is simple and easy to learn. At first, players will start with Red, which is one of the characters of the actual game. There are some basic features in the game, and learning those will make the game easier for new players.

Introducing the Basics of Angry Birds Racing

Energy Bar

The energy bar capacity is 10 and each race costs 1 energy. Players can participate in only ten races in one go. It takes only 15 minutes to replenish one energy so it should not be a concern for the players. Always have an eye on the bar to get the most out of it.

Selecting the Racetrack

Currently, there are multiple racetracks available in the game. Each racetrack has its own expert bird. This expert bird has a higher chance of winning on that certain racetrack, so players should choose their racer wisely. When a player starts a race, a quick lottery begins on the screen. The racetrack is chosen by this lottery. A total of 16 players compete with each other in a single race.

Launching the Birds

This is arguably the most important part of a race. The performance of the racer in a race heavily depends on the launch. All the birds get placed on a giant slingshot just like the original angry birds game. Players will have to adjust the slingshot trajectory to get a quick boost.

If a player does not use the slingshot in the first two seconds after the commencement of the race, an auto-jump will launch the bird. Players should aim the trajectory of the slingshot with attention. A good launch always provides the upper hand to the racer.

Race Gameplay

As players can guess from the name, in this section, we are going to discuss the basic gameplay of the race. After launching from the slingshot, all birds start to skid on the terrain of the racetrack. While skidding, racers will find many uphills and downhills. Players should perform flips in these locations to get an extra boost. They will also get many obstacles such as piggy towers and castles. By destroying them, players can get boosters and gold coins.

Utilising the Speed booster of the Rocket

Rockets or Speed boosters are one of the essential elements of the race. Players can get boosters by collecting rocket tokens, which spawn randomly on the racetrack. Speed boosters can also be found in the ruins of the piggy castles. Rocket provides a limited-time speed boost, so players should use it wisely to avoid running out of fuel in the middle of the race.

Using the Jump and Flips

Jump and flip, these two mechanisms play a very important role in a race a perfect jump and a successful 360-degree flip can give players great speed which can eventually help them to win that race. Although, a little mistake while flipping can cause a decrease in speed so players should use it carefully.

Understanding the Birds

Types of Birds

As mentioned earlier, there is a total of 15 Birds available in the game. Each bird has its own characteristics. Some birds excel on a certain map, and some birds’ special features provide an extra advantage in a race. Players should select the birds wisely before joining a race since it is one of the most important aspects of the game.

Upgrading your Birds

As the players get promoted to higher leagues, the competition increases heavily. To stay relevant in the league, a player should always buy newer birds using feathers, which can be earned from racing. Players can also upgrade the existing birds using gold coins. Upgrading a bird increases its base stats.

The number of feathers a player gets after completing a race is quite enough. The following table will show the numbers:
