Get your beginner Aniimo set here!

Aniimo is a free-to-play, next-gen creature-catching open-world RPG by the developer Pawprint Studio with publisher Kingsglory, a subsidiary of FunPlus. You can explore the vast continent of Idyll, Twine with unique Aniimo, and unlock new abilities. If you are a new Aniimo catcher and want a head start on getting the tips to get the best aniimo then this beginner’s guide for Aniimo is for you.

Aniimos are creatures that you capture in the game’s massive open world and turn them into companions, so taking time to understand the basics early will make your journey much smoother. As a beginner, focus first on exploring each area carefully rather than rushing through objectives.

How gameplay works in Aniimo

The game’s first impression is going to give you the feeling that, ” Wow, this feels familiar, like playing Pokémon games, but with a neat twist that separates it from the Pokémon games. And, that is you can merge with your collected Aniimo and play as them via the feature called Twine. Twining allows you to merge your Playable Character with any one of the Aniimo you’ve chosen for your team.

Aniimos are the essential companions and also tools for exploring the world. Like if I had to reach a spot on a tree or in a small hole in a rock or dig something, I have to use the appropriate Aniimo for it. So having the right Aniimo at the right spot in your team can make the exploration easier; the game even shows which Aniimo is good for gliding, swimming, or climbing trees.

How Aniimo Combat works

The battles happen in real time, and you have to dodge and attack on the move like an action game. While you are human, you buff and support your Aniimo in the battle, but when you use the Twine ability to merge and transform into your on-field Aniimo, you get to use your Aniimo skills and ultimates. Every Aniimo so far has 1 skill, 1 passive, and 1 ultimate.

There are different elements at play when it comes to combat synergy between aniimos, and for that, you have to always target the element that counters it. Like I had to use water-based Aniimo to defeat fire-based Aniimo, or else it would make the fights unnecessarily hard. Always have different elements of Aniimo on your team when doing combat.

Focus on exploration

As a beginner, focus first on exploring each area carefully rather than rushing through objectives. Many valuable items, hidden paths, and rare Aniimo can be found off the main route. Catching different Aniimo early helps you learn elemental strengths and weaknesses while also building a flexible team.

Always try to scan or inspect new Aniimo you encounter, as this provides useful information about their abilities, while also filling your Aniimo index.

Aniimo encourages exploration and creativity, so trying different team combinations and playstyles will help you discover what works best for you. Early mistakes are normal, and every battle teaches something new about mechanics or enemy patterns.

Take your time, enjoy the world, and focus on steady progression rather than rushing to the endgame. With patience and smart planning, your Aniimo team will grow into a powerful squad capable of handling anything the game throws at you.
