Hero bond is a special bond that connects heroes with similar history and purpose according to their story. You don’t have to put them together in one team, all you have to do is obtain the hero and the bond will be activated.  As the bond hero promotes, the bond level will increase as well.

1. Free Will

Free Will bond consists of Boudicca, Joan of Arc, and William Wallace. Once the bond is completely activated, Boudicca will deal extra damage equal to 2.5 percent of the target’s Max HP after the target takes damage from her Shark Sign, while Joan of Arc attacks will increase by 2 percent and Wallace Max HP will increase by 2 percent as well.

Cleopatra, Shajar al-Durr, Tomyris, Queen of Sheba share the same bond as their past life as female rulers. Once the bond is activated, Shajar al-Durr will deal extra damage equal to 2 percent of the target’s missing HP after using her ultimate. On the other hand, Tomyris’s attack will increase by 2 percent during the battle, Queen of Sheba max HP will increase by 2 percent, and Cleopatra’s defense will increase by 5.5 percent.

Leonidas, Roland, and Lagertha were feared and excellent militant commanders in their respective times. Once the bond is activated, Leonidas will take 24 percent less damage for the first 5 seconds, while Roland’s attack will increase by 2 percent and Lagertha’s max HP will increase by 2 percent.

4. Strategist

King Richard, King Edward, and Guiguzi share the same bond as the strategist. Guiguzi damage of his next skill will increase by 5.5 percent once the bond is activated, while Edward’s attacks will increase by 2 percent and Richard Max HP will increase by 2 percent.

Queen’s Gambit is a special bond that requires you to have Queen of Sheba and Boudicca on the same battlefield in order to activate the bond. When Boudicca is present, Queen of Sheba’s bouncing attacks have a 28 percent chance to inflict and Boudicca attacks will increase by 2 percent.

6. Glory of Empire

The glory of the Empire was filled with enormous Kings such as Alexander, Timur, Temujin, and Shajar al-Durr. Alexander and ally warrior will gain a 50 percent MSPD bonus and a shield of 10 percent of their Max HP at the beginning of the battle, while Timur attack will increase by 1.3 percent, Shajar al-Durr Max HP and his HP cap increase by 1.3 percent, and Temujin along with the physical allies will increase by 28 percent.

7. Harbinger

A harbinger bond is a bond created by the presence of Arash and Xerxes. Arash’s ASPD will increases by 8 percent when attacking debuffed targets, and Xerxes’ attack will increase by 2 percent during the battle.

Hippocrates and Charles are tied by the Light of Hope bond. After using his ultimate all linked targets damage taken will be reduced by 12 percent for 3 seconds while Charles’s attack will increase by 2 percent.

9. Sengoku Ordeal

Sengoku Ordeal is a special bond created for Masamune and Hanzo as they came from Sengoku Era. Masamune’s first skill will ignore the target’s 60 percent defense while Hanzo’s attacks will be more lethal with a 2 percent improvement in his attack.

Covenant is a special bond that tied Sultan Saladin and Richard the Lion Heart due to their friend-enemy relationship. This bond will make Richard immune to the first control effect attack and restore his HP while Saladin will receive less damage from a normal attack by 60 percent.

Hidden Assassin requires you to have Masamune, Shajar al-Durr, Timur, Tomyris, and Xerxes. Shajar Al-Durr and Timur will be important as they will jump into the enemy backline and kill mid-ranges heroes.

In this complete 6 member formation, Richard and Guiguzi will be your Area of Effect damage dealer while Richard will be frontline, while Cleopatra and Dido will cast magic damage from mid ranges and Joan of Arc will constantly regen her teammate’s HP.

Chrono Legacy Formation Guide: Tips and Tricks

  • Put Mages, Support and Assassin in the backline as they are vulnerable with massive damage
  • Your Warrior should be in the middle line, right behind tank so they could jump into your backline and defend your mage or support from enemy assassin
  • If you only use warrior as a frontliner, make sure they is well equipped and their level is max enough so they can withstand the enemy incoming attack for a long time.

Final Thoughts

Having a good formation will help you a lot during the battle as the hero on your roster will synergize each other with each of their special ability. However, it is wise to at least activate one or two hero bonds in your team in order to enhance your hero stats as well. Those heroes were tied by special bonds due to their similar position based on history or based on their relationship. This is a very strange game, transforming queens into fighters and having Joan of Arc whack people with her banner (which seems to be a nod to the historical fact that she said she carried her banner in battle rather than fighting, but in the game she fights by using the banner).
