Clash of Clans Clan Capital troops: Complete list, details, and tips for using them

The complete list of all Clan Capital troops!

The Clan Capital is one of the most recent major additions added by Supercell to their strategy title Clash of Clans. As such, the concept still being relatively new, and many players are still trying to find their way around the various elements of the Clan Capital. Here in this article, we will take you through one of the key elements, that is, the troops that are available in the Clan Capital, and some pointers on how to use them in Clash of Clans.

List of Clan Capital troops in Clash of Clans

As of now, the Clan Capital in Clash of Clans has a total of 15 troops. They function just like the regular village and builder base troops and are used to attack other Clan Capitals. Also, in Clan Capital, new troops are uncooked by building their own specific Barracks, unlike the Home Village format.

The descriptions of the troops are as follows.

1. Super Barbarian

Super Barbarian

The Super Barbarian is in most ways identical to the regular Barbarian that one can find in their Home Village. But what sets this Clan Capital troop apart is its enhanced physical attributes such as increased hitpoints, damage, and speed. Additionally, they also get an 8-second Rage spell boost after deployment, which amplifies their already enhanced attributes, thus making them very versatile troops for their value.

Troop Info

  • Preferred Target: None
  • Attack Type: Melee (Ground Only)
  • Housing Space: 5
  • Special Ability: Rage

Tips to use them

Super Barbarians, much like their counterpart the regular Barbarians, are most deadly when used in swarms. They can also be used to pick off solitary buildings in the exterior of the base in order to funnel the heavier troops and keep them from being distracted and pulled off course by stray buildings. Although they are vulnerable to splash damage, so look out!

2. Sneaky Archers

Sneaky Archers coc

The Sneaky Archer is probably a cousin of the Archer from the Home Village who perhaps went through some extra intensive training to make herself stand out from her brethren. Although their damage is bumped up from normal, they are still squishy with low hitpoints. They have the ability to render themselves invisible to all enemy defenses for 5 seconds after they are deployed.

Troop Info

  • Preferred Target: None
  • Attack Type: Ranged Ground & Air
  • Housing Space: 2
  • Special Ability: Cloak

Tips to use them

Owing to their low hitpoints, the Sneaky Archers are extremely vulnerable if they do not have a troop with high hitpoints tanking the damage for them. Therefore they are best used in flash attacks as they can clear buildings without being targeted for the first 5 seconds whereon they will need assistance to keep fighting. They should also be deployed out of range of Mortars as they can absolutely demolish the troop.

3. Super Giant

Super Giant
Image via Supercell

The Super Giant is a troop that once can unlock in the Clan Capital and it specifically targets defenses. The Super Giant also wears a belt on its waist to signify some sort of honor received that sets it apart from its close relative, the Giant. Besides having a very high hitpoint, they also have the Wall Buster ability that enables them to deal 5 times more damage to walls.

Troop Info

  • Preferred Target: Defenses
  • Attack Type: Melee (Ground Only)
  • Housing Space: 10
  • Special Ability: Wall Buster

Tips to use them

Although they prioritize defenses, they are best put to use as tanks to absorb damage in order to shield other troops with low hitpoints. Their low movement speed makes them pretty obsolete in their purpose to destroy defenses and is therefore put to other uses. where they come in clutch for some comparatively low costs.

4. Battle Ram

Battle Ram, Clash of Clans
Image via Supercell

The Battle Ram as a troop has been directly inspired by the same troop from Clash Royale, yet another game set in the Clash Universe. The Battle Ram as its name suggests is a ramming contraception carried by 4 Barbarians on their shoulders who emerge after the battle ram has struck an object to continue the fight with their swords. This unit specifically prioritizes walls and deals a huge amount of damage to the walls it strikes.

Troop Info

  • Preferred Target: Walls (Damage x40)
  • Attack Type: Area Splash (Ground Only)
  • Housing Space: 5
  • Special Ability: None

Tips to use them

They find similar to use in attacks and strategies as the Wall Breakers do, but Battle Rams take it up a notch due to it providing 4 extra Barbarians to keep the fight going. Therefore, if spammed, the Battle Rams will eventually break through the walls and the Barbarians can then deal some damage if deployed strategically. A Rage Spell can work wonders as well.

5. Minion Horde

Minion Horde, Clash of Clans

The Minion Horde is yet another troop that exists in Clash of Clans’ Clan Capital that is derived from Clash Universe’s other game Clash Royale. And they essentially come in identical numbers as well, that is, six minions together making up a Horde. They are extremely fast, aerial, and deal a lot of damage in numbers. But their drawback is their extremely low hitpoints and they can be easily taken out in warms by concerned defenses.

Troop Info

  • Preferred Target: None
  • Attack Type: Ranged Ground & Air
  • Housing Space: 2
  • Special Ability: None

Tips to use them

They are not the best when it comes to offense, neither do they offer as great a value, but they can be used as cleanup troops to take out isolated buildings on the outskirts of the base. And if someone is willing to risk an arm for it, they might just put a tank ahead and swarm minions behind it although that is a very high-risk and low-return type of strategy.

6. Super Wizard

Super Wizard coc clan capital troops

An even more electrifying version of the regular Wizard, the Super Wizard is a force to be reckoned with. He shoots bolts of energy at the targets and once it hits them, it rebounds off of the target and strikes 9 other targets. But once it strikes the primary targets, the damage to the 9 other targets is reduced to 40% of the base damage. Note that the targets need to be near each other.

Troop Info

  • Preferred Target: None
  • Attack Type: Single Target
  • Housing Space: 10
  • Special Ability: Chain Magic

Tips to use them

The Super Wizards are extremely destructive when not targeted by defenses or in large numbers due to their ability to hit up to 10 targets at once, coupled with the high damage that they deal. Thus they could be sent behind some tanky troops or after clearing some compartments of defenses, Invisibility spells with the Super Wizard are a popular combination as well to rack up some quick damage.

7. Rocket Balloon

Rocket Balloon
Image via Supercell

The Rocket Ballons in the Clan Capital are identical to their counterparts hailing from the Home Village for the most part. They are like regular Balloons as they drop bombs on defensive buildings to deal high damage. They are powered by rockets that boost their speed for 4 seconds after they are deployed, hence their name. This troop can only be deployed in groups and each group of Rocket Balloons in the Clan Capital consists of 4 identical units.

Troop Info

  • Preferred Target: Defenses
  • Attack Type: Area Splash (Ground Only)
  • Housing Space: 8
  • Special Ability: Boosters

Tips to use them

The Rocket Balloons make for a great troop when you need to make short work of frontline defenses to make way for the rest of your army due to their ability which makes them rapid in the offense. They deal high damage that can decimate most defenses when in a group, but they are vulnerable to splash damage and air mines so remember to take some Healing Spells to promote the troop’s lifetime.

8. Skeleton Barrel

Skeleton Barrel coc clan capital troops
Image via Supercell

The Skeleton Barrel is yet another troop that is directly derived from Clash Royale, set in the Clash Universe like Clash of Clans is. The troop is exactly what its name means, that is, it is a barrel that carries a group of regular Skeletons into the battlefield. In the Clan Capital, the Barrels are deployed in groups of three and when they reach their target they bust and deploy a large swarm of skeletons. Note that Skeleton Barrels prefer defensive buildings over other targets.

Troop Info

  • Preferred Target: Defenses
  • Attack Type: Area Splash (Ground Only)
  • Housing Space: 8
  • Special Ability: None

Tips to use them

The Skeleton Barrels can come in handy in several situations due to the fact that they only target defenses and can bypass all ground obstacles by virtue of being an aerial unit. Therefore the Skeletons can wreak havoc from behind the walls and easily overpower single-target defenses and provide a distraction for an opening attack.

9. Flying Fortress

Flying Fortress coc
Image via Supercell

The Flying Fortress is more of a siege machine rather than a troop and one can unlock it in the Clan Capital in Clash of Clans. It targets defenses and deals good damage to them. But that’s not all, when the Flying Fortress incurs damage, it spawns Skeleton Gliders that strike the target and deals damage to it. Whereafter the Glider breaks and spawns three Skeeltons on the targeted building. And when the Fortress itself is destroyed it deploys a swarm of Skeletons as well.

Troop Info

  • Preferred Target: Defenses
  • Attack Type: Ranged (Ground and Air) Single Target
  • Housing Space: 100
  • Special Ability: Skeleton Crew

Tips to use them

The Flying Fortress is an extremely powerful troop that is powerful enough to wipe out most of the defenses by itself if left unchecked. As it has relatively high hitpoints, it can also be put in front of other damage dealers as the Fortress can soak up all the damage. Being a good damage dealer itself, this strategy can put the Fortress to a variety of uses.

10. Raid Cart

Image via Supercell

The Raid Cart is a regular Cannon on wheels that are pushed around the base it is deployed in by 4 Barbarians of equal level. The Cart deals damage to whichever building is the nearest to it, and once it breaks, the 4 Barbarians moving it leave it and join the battle with the rest of the troops on the battlefield. The Raid Cart is similar to the Cannon Cart in Clash Royale except for the added 4 Barbarians.

Troop Info

  • Preferred Target: Any
  • Attack Type: Single Target (Ground Only)
  • Housing Space: 30
  • Special Ability: Last Stand

Tips to use them

The Raid Cart one-ups the other ranged troops such as the Sneaky Archers or Super Wizards but ultimately falls short when it comes to damage per second, but its hitpoints and the benefit of Barbarians compensate for it. Overall, it is a pretty reliable troop that can be very versatile and can find its way into most combinations.

11. Super P.E.K.K.A.

Super P.E.K.K.A.

If anyone thought that the regular Pekka was not scary enough, Clan Capital has come up with the Super Pekka which can be defined as being a Pekka on steroids for the best part. It has extremely high hitpoints and similarly high damage, making it able to withstand its own against multiple defenses and still come out on top. When killed, the Super Pekka explodes which deals further damage to the surrounding area.

Troop Info

  • Preferred Target: Any
  • Attack Type: Single Target (Ground Only)
  • Housing Space: 40
  • Special Ability: Overcharge

Tips to use them

The Super Pekka is self-sufficient and can hold its own for the most part but is even stronger with proper support. Paired with some quick troops or those that can target objects from a distance, the Super Pekka can be a serious headache to deal with and can do an outstanding job.

12. Hog Raiders

Hog Raiders coc clan capital troops
Image via Supercell

The Hog Raiders are a band of 2 Hog Riders and a Hog Glider, which is essentially a Hog Rider on a glider who has come together to wreak some havoc over the opponents. The Hog Riders are the regular versions from the Home Village while the Hog Glider dives into a defensive building with a Glider and then the Hog Rider riding it drops down to break some more buildings. This unit prioritizes defenses.

Troop Info

  • Preferred Target: Defenses
  • Attack Type: Single Target (Ground Only)
  • Housing Space: 15/5 (Raider/Glider)
  • Special Ability: Stunning Glide

Tips to use them

The Hog Raiders are the strongest when they are used in swarms to overpower the defenses with sheer numbers. Also, the Gliders have the ability to stun the defenses it strikes for 4 seconds, thereby giving a huge advantage to the attacking player to work with. Heal Spells work well as well.

13. Super Dragon

Super Dragon coc
Image via Supercell

A significantly juiced-up version of the regular Dragon, the Super Dragon in Clash of Clans’ Clan Capital is no doubt the most potent aerial threat that is currently available in the game. Having a very high hitpoint and capable of dishing out massive damage, the Super Dragon can hit up to 10 times with each burst of fire it produces. It does not have any preferred target and simply attacks whatever is the closest in range.

Troop Info

  • Preferred Target: None
  • Attack Type: Area Splash (Ground & Air)
  • Housing Space: 40
  • Special Ability: Roast

Tips to use them

The Super Dragon, owing to its extremely effective splash damage and general high damage is an excellent option against clumped-up building compartments where it could deal extensive damage to multiple targets at once. Like the Super P.E.K.K.A., the Super Dragon is pretty self-sufficient as well and can carve its way into the base if deployed in the proper area.

14. Mountain Golem

Mountain Golem coc clan capital troops
Image via Supercell

The Mountain Golem, the heaviest and most durable troop in all of Clash Universe, is a title worthy of this behemoth of a troop. He can also skip some tiles and the rivers in the map as well just because of its huge strides. Also, the Mountain Golem can crush all walls he comes in contact with as part of his ability. He deals decent damage but is extremely slow but makes up for it by being the most formidable tank with tens of thousands of hitpoints.

Troop Info

  • Preferred Target: Any
  • Attack Type: Melee (Ground Only) Spash Damage
  • Housing Space: 160
  • Special Ability: Crush

Tips to use them

The Mountain Golem by itself cannot deal much damage but due to its colossal hitpoints, it can tank just about anything and keep the defenses engaged for long enough for other troops to make sure that the battle will be won.

15. Inferno Dragon

Inferno Dragon coc clan capital troops
Image via Supercell

The Inferno Dragon is the last troop that is available in Clan Capital and is derived from the Inferno Dragon that is present in Clash Royale. The Inferno Dragon performs identically to the Inferno Tower as it shoots a beam of fire that builds up and increases in damage over time. But its major drawback is its inability to damage multiple targets at once.

Troop Info

  • Preferred Target: Any
  • Attack Type: Single Target
  • Housing Space: 15
  • Special Ability: inferno Beam

Tips to use them

The Inferno Dragon’s high damage capability makes it ideal for wearing down buildings with very high hitpoints. In particular, the Capital Hall can be brought down quickly through their use, especially when a Rage Spell is used.

Conclusion

So that concludes our list of all the troops that are available in the Clan Capital of Clash of Clans. As can be seen, the troops are mostly all tweaked versions of regular troops with some abilities added to them. Therefore, Clash of Clans has successfully managed to bring in some fresh troops while still keeping the original troop descriptions intact, which we feel might be coming more in the Clan Capital.
