Heroes have easily become one of the most important additions to Clash Royale in recent seasons. With a dedicated Hero slot now part of every deck and also an option to pick between a Hero or an Evolution, you have plenty of options to modify your deck’s prowess.
Since their introduction back in Season 78, Heroes have kept evolving with new additions every season. From Knight to Goblins to Mega Minion, the variety is already huge, with 11 heroes part of the game at the time of writing. Because of that, ranking them actually matters.
Picking the wrong Hero for a particular combination can slow your deck down, since every hero has its own strength. Still, I feel a few heroes can carry games on their own because of their abilities. This Clash Royale Hero Tier List will list the ranking of these and tell you who the top picks are.

Best Meta Hero picks in Clash Royale for Season 82
Right now, it feels like the top is pretty clearly defined by Hero Mega Minion and Hero Magic Archer. Both bring mechanics that are hard to deal with once they get value. One punishes positioning, the other does a bit of everything, and both can swing games without needing much setup.
Knight for me is still that allrounder, you can drop him into almost any deck and he just works. Goblins and Wizard are similar in that sense, as both are strong, and they’re easy to get value from without forcing your whole deck around them.
The recently added Hero Balloon is a nice addition as it’s strong, but you still have clear ways to deal with it. Mini P.E.K.K.A. and Barbarian Barrel are fine, but they don’t feel like must-picks anymore. Especially the former after the balance change. Musketeer, Ice Golem, and Giant still have their uses, but they feel limited compared to the other three.
