eFootball 2026 Epic Castolo Master League reward review: Another fantastic F2P offering

A solid striker!

eFootball 2026 is bringing back a familiar face with Epic Castolo, this time as a free reward through the Master League Sprint event. Available for ranked players, this is one of those cards you don’t have to spend Coins on, but you’ll still need to put in some effort to secure your spot and claim him.

For long-time players, Castolo is more than just another card; he’s a nostalgic name from the Master League days. Now reintroduced as an Epic, there’s naturally some curiosity around how he actually performs in the current gameplay.

Since he’s tied to rankings, not everyone will get him easily, which also adds a bit of value to the card. But beyond that, is this just a fun throwback, or does Epic Castolo actually hold up our dream team matches? Here’s my review and verdict.

Castolo

  • Position: CF
  • Playing Style: Goal Poacher
  • Show Time Skill: Phenomenal Finishing

This is one of those fun cards, more than anything else. If you’ve played Master League, you already know the name, so there’s a bit of nostalgia attached here. Looking at the card itself and the stats that are strong in certain areas, it’s actually pretty usable.

High offensive awareness and finishing mean he’ll be in the right place most of the time, and with Phenomenal Finishing, he should be reliable to finish even from awkward angles, it is a strong ST skill.

Pace is another plus. In my build, he gets 95 speed with good acceleration, making him suited for quick through balls and counter attacks. He’s not just a static poacher; he can actually run in behind and stretch defenses a bit.

On the ball, he’s decent. The dribbling stats are okay, and he does have a lot of skill moves, so he won’t feel stiff, but you’re not picking him to beat multiple defenders. Passing is also very basic, so link-up play is limited; use him to hold, dash, and shoot the ball as the end product.

Coming to his aerial ability, for his height, 80-odd heading, and good jump, means he can still head some of these uncontested balls in the air, but still, it isn’t enough. So, you can make him purely grounded and improve dribbling if you think physical contact is not needed.

In terms of where he fits, this feels like a straightforward Goal Poacher, a solid free offering. I can say he is going to wreak terror in the hands of the Epic El-Hadji Diouf users from the CAF Africa Cup of Nations 25 campaign who use him with Smart Assist on.
