So here’s everything you need to know about the eFootball 2026 v5.5.0 update.

eFootball 2026 v5.5.0 update: All you need to know

Smart Assist changes finally arrive for PvP

The headline addition in the v5.5.0 update is the Smart Assist restriction for PvP matches. KONAMI has also now made changes so that Smart Assist settings can no longer be adjusted during PvP matches, something competitive players have wanted for a long time. So all the doubts we had before are now clarified.

New packs arrive

English League Season’s Best is also live. BT Declan Rice headlines the main pack with Visionary Pass and Long-Range Tackle as his Show Time skills. Erling Haaland joins him with Bullet Header and Fighting Spirit, while Hugo Ekitiké arrives with Phenomenal Finishing and Acceleration Burst.

Outside the main pack, Darwin Núñez receives a separate 500-coin special pack with Bullet Header as his Show Time skill. David Alaba also gets a dedicated store pack priced at 750 coins. Another Show Time addition is already lined up for the weekend refresh, with Casemiro set to headline a 50-player Show Time pack arriving this Saturday.

The English League POTS selection is also available, alongside the Nominating Contract. As for this season’s division push, the reward is Show Time Nico Schlotterbeck, who arrives with the Long-Range Tackle skill.

eFootball League updates

The update also includes matchmaking and Rating formula adjustments for the eFootball League. Something to note is that relegation from Division 1 to Division 3 will no longer happen during an active Phase, reducing the frustration of sudden drops while climbing rankings.

KONAMI has additionally changed how Ratings are handled at the beginning of a new Phase. Your starting Rating will now depend on the Division you reached in the previous season. Also, I noticed that the phase now is shorter, running for 21 days with Division ratings kicking off from 1400 points.

Game Plan updates

Outside of PvP, players can now create up to 20 Game Plan Lists, while My Team also gets a “Select All” option to make squad management easier. Releasing multiple players has also been improved, as locked players will now remain protected even if selected together accidentally.

New Epic arrivals

While not officially confirmed by KONAMI, the community has already spotted several new face scans added alongside the v5.5.0 update files.

Names currently being shared include Diego Costa, Gianluca Zambrotta, Shinji Ono, Filippo Inzaghi, Neymar, and Rio Ferdinand. If these additions are indeed linked to upcoming content, we could see several new Epic or Big Time cards arrive over the next few weeks.
