eFootball 2026 Epic World Player of the Year 2025 pack review

Best of the best!

KONAMI has rolled out the Epic World Player of the Year 2025 pack in eFootball 2026, honouring this year’s Ballon d’Or with three standout Epic cards. The winner, Ousmane Dembélé, gets a unique design compared to the runners up, Lamine Yamal and Vitinha.

The lineup is flashy, and the cards are clearly tuned to be top-tier choices for most squads. But as always, the question remains, does this pack really live up to the hype, or is it one you can skip? Here’s my take on it.

eFootball 2026 Epic World Player of the Year Players

Ousmane Dembélé

  • Position: CF
  • Playing Style: Goal Poacher
  • Show Time Skills: Momentum Dribbling and Visionary Pass

Dembélé at CF will raise some questions again, and honestly, this feels close to his old Season’s Best card. Back then, he had Acceleration Burst, which made him explode into space. This time, KONAMI went with Momentum Dribbling and Visionary Pass.

Well, if you see this card, you will easily confuse it with a Show Time Mbappe poacher card. Almost similar numbers, build, and playing style, Dembele, just like Mbappe, is a fun card to use. His finishing is clean enough that he won’t waste chances, and his dribbling makes him stronger.

As a central forward, he struggles with awareness and physical battles, so don’t expect him to bully CBs. But out wide or as a second striker, he becomes a real headache. He’s not a massive upgrade on his old card, but he remains a nightmare for defenders when used right.

Lamine Yamal

  • Position: RMF
  • Playing Style: Cross Specialist
  • Show Time Skills: Momentum Dribbling and Edged Crossing

Yamal arrives with a fresh playstyle that feels different from what we usually get, because most of his type are Creative Playmakers or Prolific Wingers. Having him as a Cross Specialist is actually refreshing, and it works well with his natural game.

The Momentum Dribbling makes him smooth on the ball, which has been a common occurrence, while Edged Crossing ensures his deliveries into the box are consistently threatening. He feels very natural on the wing, still, even with the playstyle change.

He’s not just about crossing blindly either; the quality is there, and it creates real chances. His dribbling gives him enough edge to cut inside if needed, but his best work comes from staying wide and whipping balls in; that passing buff definitely helps.

He tugs the touchline often here, which I felt might be hindering his finishing, which is also good, but he can cut inside and shoot for himself. Long shots are not really good on this card; curlers feel less powerful compared to his Big Time card. Still a strong winger to have.

Vitinha

  • Position: CMF
  • Playing Style: Orchestrator
  • Show Time Skill: Phenomenal Pass

Vitinha brings balance to the pack and comes with a strong card. As an Orchestrator, he fits perfectly in the middle, the right balance between offense and defense, so easily. If you use Fabio Capello as your Manager, here’s a good pick for that DMF Link-up play role.

His positioning allows him to cover spaces well, and his passing range is really good, and is in the higher 90s range. The defensive side of his game is respectable enough that he can sit deeper, but he’s best when allowed to dictate tempo with a more physical DMF.

Compared to many box-to-box mids, this Vitinha feels like a glue card, but again, I would rather give him a CMF build, still good enough to play at DMF, since his main strengths are dribbling and passing, and that DMF build kind of snatches it.

Verdict on the eFootball 2026 World Player of the Year 2025 players

This pack definitely carries hype with the Ballon d’Or theme, but when you break it down, it doesn’t quite hit must-pull status. Overall, it’s a balanced trio, but not the kind of pack that changes your team instantly, especially looking at the recent packs.

All these surely are strong in their respective positions, but I feel we definitely could have benefited from better skills. Can’t blame KONAMI, the top 3 ended this way for not too many points; however, five stars for that card design, loved the background Dembele got.

Pack Rating: 2.5 out of 5
