The excitement in eFootball 2026 continues with another fantastic Epic pack featuring three legendary “Guardians” names from the European Clubs. Edwin van der Sar, Christian Panucci, and Gareth Bale are here on offer, and all come with impressive numbers.
While it’s branded as a “Defenders” pack, it’s actually a nice blend of defensive reliability and attacking intent from the back. Here’s my review after trying them out.
eFootball 2026 European Clubs Guardians players
Edwin van der Sar
- Position: GK
- Playing Style: Offensive Goalkeeper
- Show Time Skills: None
Making his debut in the game as a Classic Epic, Van der Sar feels exactly like the composed and commanding goalkeeper you’d expect. He plays the sweeper role naturally, thanks to the playstyle, stepping out confidently to clear loose balls and distribute decently enough.

His long throws and punts can easily spark counterattacks, which is perfect for players who like quick transitions. Shot-stopping is where he shines most, as his reflexes are really good, and he rarely spills catches. Even under pressure, he maintains calmness, timing his saves and parries perfectly.
The tall frame really helps him cover angles, and in aerial duels, he is solid in pushing off those crosses. I feel sometimes being aggressive doesn’t help him; some easy mistakes are noticeable, but I can say he is a Tier 1 GK. Missed out on a Show Time skill, not too sure if it comes into effect anyway.
Christian Panucci
- Position: RB
- Playing Style: Offensive Wingback
- Show Time Skills: Visionary Pass and Long Reach Tackle
Now this is an interesting card. Panucci gives that complete right-back package, be it pace, stamina, and defensive numbers all rolled into one. Given the playstyle, he overlaps pretty well and also covers back the space without any problems.
He’s very reliable defensively, with clean tackles and smart positioning, but he’s not shy about moving forward either. Both ST skills are really good in this case. The Visionary Pass helps in his crossing so that it boosts the stats of the receiver, and the Long Reach Tackle is a gem for a defender when cutting off any attacker.

The balance between his defensive work rate and attacking mindset makes him a consistent performer, and easily stretch for longer runs in a match. Keep him as an RB, and don’t train him as a CB would be my suggestion, even though he goes up to 107 in the position. He is kind of aggressive there, even with defensive instructions, and his Aerial game in CB is a hit or miss. Push his passing numbers high
Gareth Bale
- Position: LB
- Playing Style: Offensive Wingback
- Show Time Skills: Edged Crossing and Acceleration Burst
Another solid Bale card here, but here’s the twist. Bale as a left-back sounds exciting on paper, but it’s honestly a waste of his attacking potential. Sure, he has the defensive skills, but his natural game leans heavily towards offense.

When used as an LMF or even a winger, that’s when you see his full impact, because he can create, dribble, run riot on defenders with his pace, and even finish with a proper build. Another reason for this take of mine is his player skills.
The Acceleration Burst and Edged Crossing combination works brilliantly when he’s higher up the pitch. He needs to move up, take on defenders, and create scoring chances. Add a few more of those creative skills, such as One Touch Pass, Through Pass, and Fighting Spirit, and he becomes a perfect wide winger.
Verdict on the eFootball 2026 European Clubs Guardians
This pack might not scream meta, but you have players who are best in their positions. Van der Sar is the best GK option, and for fullbacks, two amazing pacey cards are on offer. It is a good draw if you ask me, but you surely can wait for better packs if these three aren’t your targets.
Pack Rating: 3.5 out of 5
