It is that time of the year again! After a successful Team of the Year Event, EA is back with the Lunar New Year Event in FIFA Mobile 21. The Chinese or the Lunar Year is the time of lanterns, envelopes, and spinning the wheel of the zodiac. As the celebrations begin in China in the year of the Ox, EA brings us FIFA Mobile Lunar New Year Event. Get ready to have an eventful month of grinding skill games and matches.

FIFA Mobile 21 Lunar New Year Event Description

• Event Duration: February 11th – February 25th (14 Days)
• Ads: 3 ads daily giving 5 Lunar Energy per ad
• Coin Packs: 8 Coin Packs weekly giving 10 Lunar Energy each for 15,000 coins
• Energy: Lunar Energy refreshes 1 per hour with a max of 18 Team Energy
• Daily Claim: 3 Red Envelopes

FIFA Mobile 21 Lunar New Year Event Flow

Lantern

In the Main Tab, you will be using your Lunar Energy to play a series of VSA matches and Skill Games for Lunar Points. Completing the Skill Game rewards you with Lunar Points while failing to do it returns back the energy. Win VS Attack, Matches, and Skill Games to light up red lanterns and help different villages scare away the Nian Monster!

You have a daily choice between two paths: Normal or Hard. Each path provides different rewards and challenges. You can only play one type of path per day, so choose carefully. The upper path is easy and the lower path is hard. All the nodes are the same with the difference being the difficulty of the path and thus resulting in better rewards (the hard path)

If you lose or fail to complete in the normal node, you don’t lose progress, in the bottom, you do get your energy back but you need to replay the entire thing from the beginning. There are also 8 weekly coin packs that give 10 Lunar Energy for 15,000 coins each and 3 daily ads giving 5 Lunar Energy each. It is not necessary to buy the coin packs as you can play only one node once a day.

There are additional milestones ie do any of the paths at least 10 times and you will get End of an Era 94 OVR ST Wayne Rooney. He is not auctionable, so everybody will land up with him.

Red Envelope

This is a recurring portion of Lunar New Year, use your Red Envelopes here to open envelopes containing different rewards, including Lunar Players, Zodiac Tokens, and Lunar Points. Each day you will get 3 envelopes on login and 5 from the path.

Rewards change daily, so check back in regularly! Remember to wait until day 3, as by then you should be able to have all the 24 envelopes to guarantee all your rewards. You don’t want to waste your envelopes on anything.

Zodiac

This is the best part of the event. Here is where you will be earning the majority of the players and resources.Use Zodiac Tokens here to earn various Zodiac Players, Skill Boosts, and Coins.

You can do this up to 14 times just by completing the daily path every day. Get a guaranteed Zodiac Player after 8 claims. Each claim costs 100 Zodiac Tokens. After the first week, all the current players will be replaced with a fresh set of Zodiac Players.

Lucky Shop

This is the tab where you will use your hard-earned Lunar Points towards rewards. Use your Lunar Points on Lunar Players, Ox Offers, or Golden Ox Offers.

Claim all of the day’s Ox Offers to unlock the Golden Ox offer. Ox and Golden Ox Offers refresh every 12 hours. You can also trade in your points for Zodiac Tokens. There are milestones to complete and obtain Event Icon Carlos and Prime Icon Overmars, but then they are not free to play by any means so we are not discussing. PS: Wait, Carlos is!

Lunar Points

• Earn them from the Normal/Hard Paths and Red Envelopes.
• Use them towards Lunar Players, Ox Offers, and Golden Ox Offers.

Zodiac Tokens

• Earn them from the Normal/Hard Paths, Red Envelopes, and the Lucky Shop.
• Use them to get rewards from the Zodiac Box.

Red Envelopes

• Earn them from logging in daily and from the Normal/Hard Paths. 
• Use them to open rewards in the Red Envelope Chapter.

Monster Scales

• Earn them from completing the Normal/Hard Paths.
• Use them towards the Nian Monster Pack for various rewards.

FIFA Mobile 21 Lunar New Year Event Tips and Tricks

After an amazing TOTY, Lunar New Year is a decent event in FIFA Mobile 21. It has a little amount of grind, with daily skill games and matches to play. So here are our additional tips and tricks to help you get the best from the event. It took us a while to get these answers and calculate everything so let’s explain it here.

First and foremost as usual this is an event energy-based event. So never ever let your energy get filled out. Don’t let your energy refresh out. Never! The coin packs and ads are not really worth it if you can complete your path in one turn. Save your coin packs and use them if you ever get stuck in a path and fail to finish it or you can horde your ads and watch them before reset so that you have a stack of energy. Whatever you do, you will land up with the same amount of resources as everybody else.

Lucky Shop

From the table above we can clearly see you can grab either of the 94 rated players. Either of the 96 rated players will cost you 5000 gems. While Oyarazabal, Rashford, and Nkunku will cost from 15,000 – 35,000 gems. Let’s not discuss the icons, Prime Overmars cost around 210,000 gems.

Remember, all the players are auctionable right now from the beginning and the free-to-play obtainable players will be also fairly cheap. So alternatively, you can focus on boosts as well. So we advise you to focus on the resources and forget the players totally, except the zodiac players. If given a choice, rather think of trading your Lunar Points for Zodiac Tokens or the Ox Offers if they are worth it. Plus there are much much more resources in the Zodiac Wheel, so that’s what you should be going for as well.

Claiming Roberto Carlos

If you go through the Ox Offers closely, Event Icon Roberto Carlos is free to play obtainable! With the Ox Offers cycling twice a day, you just need to claim 14 Ox Offers from the 28

So from the chart above, if you focus fully on the Hard Path, spend your Red Envelopes for Lunar Points, when they come and buy the Ox offers from time to time as specified in the chart above, Carlos is just a matter of time away.

That’s it the Lunar New Year in a nutshell. Beyond that, there isn’t a whole lot to say about this event. All the calculations are at your doorstep there, do with it what you will and plan carefully. Lunar New Year is all about resources, it can be a huge event if you focus on coins, boost, and XP and forget the players. On the whole, it’s not that bad, but not too good either! It’s just a fun event after Team of the Year.
