Oathbound Chests are not the normal kind of chests that players often come across in Fortnite. They have a much higher chance of dropping the latest content which has been made available in the New Chapter. They are quite similar to IO chests or Chrome chests which were available in the game in the past.
Oathbound chests also have a much more loot-dropping capacity than normal chests. So even though the primary reason for many players to look for these chests on the map is so that they can finish the challenges and climb upwards in the Battle Pass. They should not ignore them still even if they are not required for the challenges anymore. These crates still would have a much bigger loot-dropping capacity than the normal chests.
Where to find Oathbound Chests in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1
Oathbound Chests can be found in one of the nine major POIs available on the map called the medieval section. This part of the map can be recognized by its autumn trees and old-fashioned building. They look like they’ve been made from wood. The chests can spawn anywhere in this region as it had the highest probability over here, but if a white flag with an exclamation point is shown at a particular place, an Oathbound Chest can be found there for sure.
Players need to remember that there are no guaranteed spawn locations for Oathbound Chests and even if someone looks for it in this region thoroughly, there’s a chance they might not find them. These chests are a hot target so players need to quickly loot the chest if they come across it and carry themselves to safety as fast as possible.
