The watchlist is back to identify players who’ve caught the eye based on recent performances and upcoming fixtures. Gameweek 37 possesses a unique threat with 5 teams having double gameweek and 1 team without any game. So here are a few suggestions for your consideration.

1. Jordan Pickford (Goalkeeper) – 4.8 Million

Everton has won 3 of their last 5 matches losing the only game to Liverpool. They have managed to keep a total of 6 clean sheets and 2 of them came in the last 5 matches. Pickford has an average of 5.6 FPL points in that spell with one double-digit haul. The Englishman has saved a total of 107 shots out of 156 (20 saves in the last 5 games) with a saving rate of 66.7%.

So, as it stands the Pickford adds 1 extra point on an average in every game just by making saves. Everton will host both Brentford and Crystal Palace at Goodison Park followed by Arsenal away from home. The Toffees have 3 games left to save them from relegation, therefore, they can’t afford a mistake in the upcoming two gameweeks.

2. Dejan Kulusevski (Midfielder) – 6.3 Million

In case you have the budget constraints to accommodate Heung-Min Son then Dejan Kulusevski is the best alternative for you. The Swedish International has scored 3 goals and 9 assists since his arrival in Premier League and became one of favourite cheap midfielders for FPL managers. He has landed a total of 23 shots keeping 7 on target with an xG of 2.6 and created a total of 13 big chances with an xA of 3.5.

Tottenham has 2 regular games left in the last 2 gameweeks and they will face Burnley (H) and Norwich City (A). Both the teams are in the relegation zone at the league table. Additionally, Tottenham is standing in 5th position with a perfect run and a slight mistake from the gunners can give them the UCL spot. Therefore, Spurs will go at full strength in these last 2 games.

3. Wilfried Zaha (Midfielder) – 6.9 Million

On the scoresheet for a second successive match, Wilfried Zaha confidently tucked away his first-half penalty to secure a win that sees Watford relegated. No player during the match landed as many as his 2 shots on target, while only Kiko Femenía carved out more attempted assists than his 3.

Since his return from AFCON in gameweek 24, Zaha has netted 8 goals in 13 matches, with only Cristiano Ronaldo and Heung-Min Son scoring more. He ranks amongst the top 5 players for expected goals meanwhile only trailing Heung-Min Son, Cristiano Ronaldo, Harry Kane, and Mohamed Salah.

Crystal Palace has secured back-to-back wins ahead of ties with Aston Villa and Everton in double gameweek 37. The Toffees have impressively kept 3 clean sheets in their last 4 home matches but no side has conceded more chances down their right flank. Aston Villa, meanwhile, ranked fourth worst for expected goals conceded per home match since Steven Gerrard took charge.

4. Ollie Watkins (Forward) – 7.5 Million

Also scoring in back-to-back games, Ollie Watkins is into double figures for the season after his goal against Burnley, taking a total of 3 shots against the Clarets. He has recorded a match-leading 0.67 expected goals figure and no player took as many as his 8 touches in the opposition penalty box. 8 of his 10 goals this season have come since Steven Gerrard was appointed as Aston Villa manager in gameweek 12.

Watkins ranks first amongst teammates with a tally of 46 shots in the box and 19 efforts on target during that period. Amongst all forwards, only Ivan Toney, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Harry Kane can better his 7.34 expected goals figure in that time. Crystal Palace has kept 5 clean sheets in their last 8 matches, but only one of those came away from home, and Burnley is without a clean sheet in their last five matches on the road.

5. Danny Ings (Forward) – 7.7 Million

Sticking with Aston Villa, Watkins’ strike partner Danny Ings has forced his way back into the starting XI after goals against Norwich and Burnley. With rotation between Philippe Coutinho and Emiliano Buendía in the number 10 spot, opting for the two forwards could be the way to go for those on a free-hit this week. Ings scored with his only shot against the Clarets, a big chance that carried a 0.38 expected goals figure.

Steven Gerrard’s side faced back-to-back home matches in double gameweek 37 having scored 9 in their last 6 at home. They rank amongst the top 5 teams for expected goals meanwhile only trailing Tottenham Spurs, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City.
