Afratu’s Dilemma is a world quest in Genshin Impact located at the Valley of Dahri in the Sumeru desert sub-region. When you enter the area for the first time, the world quest icon will appear on the mini-map. Thankfully, there are no prerequisites for this world quest, players can start this quest the moment they set foot in the area.
How to unlock and start Afratu’s Dilemma world quest in Genshin Impact
Follow the world quest icon and talk to Afratu. He will ask you to find a way into the Ruin Golem ahead. Beware as this Ruin Golem is active, unlike the one at Devantaka Mountain. It will continuously target and shoot the active character.
But since there is a delay between the charged shot and it actually reaching the target, it is pretty easy to dodge the attacks. Just one piece of advice, don’t stand in one place. As long as you’re constantly moving, the chances of getting hit are very low.

Entering the Ruin Golem
Keep dodging the Ruin Golem’s charged shots. There is a seelie up ahead, follow it and it will enter a breakable rock. Paimon will prompt you to bait the Ruin Golem into shooting the rock. Stand in front of the rock and wait for the Ruin Golem to target you and break the rock as a result. Once the rock is broken, keep following the Seelie to its court.

Use the four-leaf clovers to reach a path sealed by a green ball and vines. Break the seal by attacking it. Any type of attack works. Continue down the path and break another seal to find yourself in a hilichurl camp. You can choose to fight them, or just ignore them and use the four-leaf clovers to move upwards.
At the top, you can unlock a teleport waypoint. It is hidden from the main map until it is unlocked. Use the four-leaf clovers to move toward the marked location. There will be another seal that needs to be broken by attacking it. Beyond this point, there will be seals unreachable by melee characters, so bring a ranged character to be able to break them.
Now you are in the Ruin Golem’s arm. There is a Ruin Guard, fight it. Break the seal in front of you and continue forward. Break the three seals to reveal the entrance to the main control area of the Ruin Golem. Breaking the seals will wake the Ruin Guard next to the entrance, fight it.
Reaching the cockpit and breaking the Suda’s Flows
Once inside the main control area, move to the highest level by using the four-leaf clovers. You will be prompted to break Suda’s Flow at three locations. At the highest level, look for the same green ball and vines as before. Break it, and enter the room. There will be three more of these seals, break them all. A cutscene will reveal the location of the next Suda’s Flow.
No need to look too hard, it is on the opposite side of the same level. Cross the bridge and enter the room. The room itself won’t be sealed, but inside the room, there are two seals, one on the left and one on the right. Breaking the one on the left will reveal a chest guarded by mushrooms, meanwhile breaking the one on the right will reveal three more seals on the ceiling.
Break them all, and a cutscene will reveal the location of the next Suda’s Flow. This time it’s on the lowest level. Approach the elevator area in the middle and glide down. The elevator does not work. There will be multiple seals scattered around the room, break them all.
Fight the enemies that spawn when you break the seals. Once all of them are broken, a cutscene will reveal that the cockpit is now accessible. A wind current will appear in the elevator area, ride it and move to the highest level using the four-leaf clovers. Enter the cockpit.

Inside the cockpit, interact with the switch that says “turn off.” The switch will change into saying “start.” interact with it. Now you can control the Ruin Golem. Five breakable rocks will be highlighted. Control the camera, aim, and shoot the rocks. Leave the Ruin Golem aim mode. This will unlock the achievement “What Does This Button Do?”

Follow the marker and go to Afratu’s location. Talk to him. The quest will come to an end. You will receive 50 Primogems as a reward. It will also unlock the achievement of “Reclining on Top of the World.”
