Paris lights the way to host Esports World Cup (EWC) 2026 with a historic $75 million prize pool

A massive relocation for the event!

The City of Light is taking charge of hosting the upcoming global esports gathering. As announced by the Esports Foundation (EF), the 2026 edition of the Esports World Cup (EWC) will take place in Paris, France, from July 6 to August 23, 2026.

This edition of EWC will reunite more than 2,000 players and 200 Clubs from over 100 countries, competing across 24 games and 25 tournaments for a record-breaking prize pool of more than $75 million.

A major uplift for Saudi Arabia’s vision to globalize its esports ambition

This is no unexpected news, as there were rumors that the city would take the role. And now, the rumor has just gotten official recognition as the President of France, himself, shared a post, welcoming the soon arrival of the event. Paris is also going to host the 2026 Winter Olympics, surely a massive reunion for athletes from the pragmatic and the digital world.

This is the first time for the event to come outside Saudi soil. After getting massive success in the first two seasons, this is a bold step for the organizers as well as an indication of a bigger, calculated, and well-thought-out plan.

ā€œRiyadh helped turn the Esports World Cup into a global phenomenon. This year, we’re excited to bring EWC to Paris for its first edition outside Saudi Arabia,ā€ shared Ralf Reichert, CEO of the EsportsĀ World Cup Foundation.

The Esports World Cup (EWC) 2026 in Paris brings the whole country into excitement

The Esports Foundation is guided by a long-term vision of growing its international tournaments and competitions through collaboration with different entities. According to the plan and the current regional tension, the organizers thought of relocating the event to Paris, France.

Esports World Cup (EWC) spent a glorious past, and from the inaugural season, it managed to entertain and promote a massive-scale esports revolution. In 2025, EWC reached more than 750 million viewers worldwide and generated over 350 million hours watched, with peak concurrent viewership nearing 8 million.

As for 2026 in Paris, the Esports World Cup (EWC) will once again welcome more than 2,000 players and 200 Clubs from over 100 countries, who will compete in 24 games across 25 tournaments for a share of the record-breaking $75 million+ prize pool.

Five mobile titles, Free Fire, Honor of Kings, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), and PUBG Mobile, will be featured alongside 19 other games. Now, the only thing left is to see the competition through to a successful completion.
