So, Servant of the Lake is a point-and-click adventure set inside the infamous Vanderboom house during the time of Aldous and William Vanderboom. Here, you begin your journey as a servant working at the estate, handling daily housekeeping duties by solving puzzles and taking care of the household as mysterious visitors begin arriving.
You also have to welcome guests, keep them comfortable, and assist the family with their strange alchemical ambitions. I really like how the gameplay slowly evolves from simple tasks like laundry work to helping with disturbing experiments and cleaning up the aftermath. Honestly, solving these surreal puzzles sounds very fun to me.
And as you progress, you get to experience events that take place decades before the original Rusty Lake story while exploring every room inside the House. Overall, the game looks very promising with its dark narrative, fun puzzles, haunting soundtrack by Victor Butzelaar, and more. I can’t wait to try it out myself especially due to the positive response in the lite version.
