Ancient Colors is a world quest series found in Fontaine, released in Genshin Impact Version 4.0. This quest series has 3 acts, A Brush of Seafoam and Crimson being the first act. This guide will cover how to find the quest and how to complete it.
Genshin Impact “Ancient Colors Act 1: A Brush of Seafoam and Crimson” World Quest: How To Find The Quest
The quest is found slightly to the north of the Statue of the Seven at Elynas in Fontaine. The world quest icon appears on the mini-map as well as the main map. You will see a Melusine with a painting, surrounded by a bunch of Eremites. Talk to them. After the conversation, you will have to fight the Eremites. After defeating them, talk to Mamere (the Melusine). This will begin the quest.

Dive in the lake in front of you. Keep descending until you find a way out of the water. From here, glide downwards to “A Very Warm Place.” Follow the marker to meet up with Mamere. On your path, a Melusine named Cosanzeana will welcome you to the Merusea Village. After talking to Cosanzeana, keep moving forward until you reach the entrance to Merusea Village.
Mamere will be waiting to talk to you at that place. Once inside the Merusea Village, you will notice several world quest icons, ignore them for now. Go to Mamere’s house. After talking to Mamere, look for a bottle around you and interact with it. Afterward, follow the marker to gather some paint. You will reach a location called “A Lonely Place.”
Here, you will have to hit the prisms to make it release a wave of energy which will hit the crystal you need to pick up. The crystals are covered with a mud-like substance and cannot be picked up directly. Place yourself behind the prism, aligned with the crystal you intend to unlock, then attack the prism. At one point you will have to use one prism to unlock another prism.
Once you are done picking up all the crystals, go talk to Mamere. After talking, enter the wormhole nearby to go to “A Very Warm Place.” Here, you will have to do a very similar thing. This time you have the ability to move the prism around. Move it closer to the crystal to be able to hit it with the prism’s energy wave. Then move the prism closer to another prism that you need to unlock.
After unlocking the second prism, move it closer to a third prism that is ahead of the path. Go to the third prism and move it closer to the second prism. Use the second prism to unlock the third one, then use it to unlock the crystal in front of it. Afterward, talk to Mamere. Then go to Mamere’s house. At Mamere’s house, fight the Eremites. This will bring the quest to an end.
