Cyno’s Passive Talents

Feathisfall Judgment

When Cyno is in the Pactsworn Pathclearer state activated by Sacred Rite: Wolf’s Swiftness, Cyno will enter the Endseer stance at intervals. If he activates Secret Rite: Chasmic Soulfarer while affected by this stance, he will activate the Judication effect, increasing the DMG of this Secret Rite: Chasmic Soulfarer by 35%, and firing off 3 Duststalker Bolts that deal 100% of Cyno’s ATK as Electro DMG. Duststalker Bolt DMG is considered Elemental Skill DMG.

Authority Over the Nine Bows

Cyno’s DMG values will be increased based on his Elemental Mastery as follows:

  • Pactsworn Pathclearer’s Normal Attack DMG is increased by 150% of his Elemental Mastery.
  • Duststalker Bolt DMG from his Passive Talent Feathisfall Judgment is increased by 250% of his Elemental Mastery.

The Gift of Silence

Best Artifacts Build for Cyno in Genshin Impact

DPS Build

Cyno is a selfish DPS character and will usually take a lot of on-field time on most rotations and team comps. Cyno’s burst is very powerful and has a long uptime, which makes it important that he is best equipped since other bursts DPS won’t be able to support him much. His damage scale with his ATK% and EM to some degree due to his passive talent, so it is recommended to either use ATK% or EM Sands depending on his build. Other than this, he will use the usual Electro DMG Bonus Goblet and a Crit Rate / Damage Circlet. In this section of the guide, we will talk about the best artifact sets to build for Cyno in Genshin Impact.

Cyno can be equipped with a myriad of powerful artifact sets that can boost his damage massively. Ideally, his Best-in-Slot artifact should be the Thundering Fury or the Gladiator’s Finale, which can boost his damage by a considerable margin. Cyno can also be equipped with a composition of various 2-pc artifact sets.

Thundering Fury

Thundering Fury
  • Set Bonuses
  • 2-Piece Bonus: Electro DMG Bonus +15%
  • 4-Piece Bonus: Increases damage caused by Overloaded, Electro-Charged and Superconduct by 40%. Triggering such effects decreases Elemental Skill CD by 1s. Can only occur once every 0.8s.

Gladiator’s Finale

Gladiator's Finale
  • Set Bonuses
  • 2-Piece Bonus: ATK +18%
  • 4-Piece Bonus: If the wielder of this artifact set uses a Sword, Claymore or Polearm, increases their Normal Attack DMG by 35%.

Gilded Dreams

Gilded Dreams
  • Set Bonuses
  • 2-Piece Bonus: Elemental Mastery +80
  • 4-Piece Bonus: Within 8s of triggering an Elemental Reaction, the character equipping this will obtain buffs based on the Elemental Type of the other party members, ATK is increased by 14% for each party member whose Elemental Type is the same as the equipping character, and Elemental Mastery is increased by 50 for every party member with a different Elemental Type. Each of the aforementioned buffs will count up to 3 characters. This effect can be triggered once every 8s. The character who equips this can still trigger its effects

Hybrid Artifact Sets:

Aside from the 4pc artifact set, you can also try hybrid sets of 2pc, as they are much easier to farm and usually have better substats than that of 4pc sets. For Cyno there are many options, the main ones being 2pc Thundering Fury + 2pc Wander’s Troupe / Gilded Dreams. These Hybrid sets are not very far behind the main 4pc set and if you can manage to get godly 2pc sets then use those, but do test your artifacts in the game on Cyno.

  • Artifact Damage Potential Ranking: With a very invested min-maxing, Cyno’s artifacts can be ranked in this order:
    • Thundering Fury  > Thundersoother = Gladiator = Gilded Dreams
    • Artifact Stats Priority: DPS

In order to bring the damage potential to the maximum for any character, min-maxing will always have the utmost importance. Cyno mainly uses his Elemental Burst to deal damage, which simplifies what sub-stat should be prioritized. Aside from the general DPS stat, you should aim to clear the ER% threshold first, because, in optimal rotations, his burst is quite important. Once ER% is not an issue, then focus on boosting CR/CD/EM as required. Cyno has high base stats but since he scales with ATK% and EM try to get some more from artifacts sub-stats. Flower and Plume are always easier to farm, so aim to procure those that have godly crit ratios.

Desired Substats: CR% AND CD% >ATK% = EM

Artifact TypeMain StatSub Stat Priority
FlowerHPCR%/CD% >ATK%=EM
PlumeATKCR%/CD% >ATK%=EM
SandsATK% / EMCR%/CD% >ATK%=EM
GobletElectro DMG Bonus%CR%/CD% >ATK%=EM
CircletCR / CD%CR%/CD% >ATK%=EM

ER% requirement for Cyno

Cyno’s Main source of damage comes from his Elemental Burst, which allows him to infuse Electro onto his weapon and deal a lot of damage. The ER% threshold for his Elemental Burst depends on what team comp Cyno is used in, but to be on the safe side of things, try to aim for at least 130% or more. With a dedicated Energy battery, Cyno can probably make do with only 120% ER, however,

if he doesn’t have a battery then he will need 180% or more for his consistent uptime. Cyno’s Best in slot weapons won’t have Energy Recharge as a sub-stat, so all the ER% has to be acquired from artifacts substats, so farm and level up artifacts accordingly.

Best Weapons for Cyno

Staff of the Scarlet Sands is the signature weapon for Cyno and is one of the best weapons for him due to the weapon’s powerful passive that is tailor-made for him. Most of the weapons require good substats from various artifacts, as Cyno depends on more attributes than the average character. Other viable options include the Primordial Jade Winged-Spear or the Staff of Homa, which is quite close in terms of damage with his signature weapon. In this section of the guide, we will talk about the best weapons for Cyno in Genshin Impact.

Among the four-star weapons, Deathmatch, Blackcliff Pole, and Missive Windspear are excellent choices and are far above the other unlikely options. Surprisingly, the White Tassel is also a great F2P alternative that can even beat a few five-star weapons.

Note: Weapon rankings should only be taken as reference as damage numbers can skew depending on multiple factors like team comps, characters, artifacts, and rotations so, test your characters to see what’s the best weapon for them. The current rankings were made by making estimations among various factors.
