GDEV portfolio studio Nexters announced that their popular mobile RPG, Hero Wars: Alliance, has surpassed $1.5 billion in lifetime revenue and has been downloaded over 150 million times across mobile platforms including both Android and iOS.
Hero Wars: Alliance has been consistently performing ever since its release
Hero Wars: Alliance is a well-loved tactical RPG with a unique cartoon style. You join the quirky knight Galahad as he battles to free his world from the evil Archdemon. In this fantasy adventure, you can power up heroes, unlock skills, and train your army. Recruit and upgrade new characters, harness their abilities, and engage in epic fantasy battles, along with solving treasure-hunting puzzles.
Thanks to its appeal across multiple genres, the game has continually grown in popularity since its launch in 2017. Recently, it featured its first collaboration event, bringing Lara Croft from Crystal Dynamics‘ video games into the mix for a limited-time event.
Even though it was released seven years ago, it is quite an achievement that the game is consistently hitting impressive numbers. Proof of this is that Hero Wars: Alliance stands strong against competitors, ranking #4 in the Worldwide Top Free RPGs, and is in the Top 20 Grossing RPGs worldwide, according to AppMagic rankings.
Well, it won’t come as a surprise to me if the game reaches its next respective milestones of $2 billion in revenue and 200 million downloads within a short period given how popular the game still is. With more collaborations, I see reaching these goals seems quite achievable as it expands the IP across multiple games.
