In this quest, players will help the Melusines, a group of aquatic creatures, to play an ancient music score using a giant conch harp. You will also discover a strange part that can be used to exchange for rewards from Xana at Merusea Village. This quest will give you more insight into the history and culture of Fontaine, one of the seven nations in Teyvat.
Here’s how to complete Genshin Impact Echoes of the Ancient World Quest
To complete this quest, players will need to follow the steps given below:
Step 1: Talk to Verenata
Teleport to Merusea Village and talk to Verenata near the pond. She will tell you about the Melusines and their musical aspirations. She will also give you a hint about where to find them underwater. You can ask her some questions about the Melusines and their relationship with humans.
Step 2: Find Carabosse
- Dive underwater and swim southward until you reach a purple cave. Enter the cave and talk to Carabosse, a Melusine who will ask you to help them play the conch harp.
- She will explain that the conch harp is an ancient instrument that can produce beautiful sounds, but it requires a special token to activate it.
- She will also tell you that there is a portal in the cave that can take you to the underwater section of Merusea Village, where the conch harp is located.
Step 3: Enter the Portal
Swim to the right and enter a current that will propel you forward. Follow the current until you reach a portal that will take you to the underwater section of Merusea Village. You will see a large conch harp on top of a platform surrounded by waterfalls.
Step 4: Break the Seal
- Swim to the left and find a sealed cave with three blue crystals. Hit the crystals with normal attacks until they turn orange. This will break the seal and allow you to enter the cave.
- Inside the cave, you will find some clues about Topyas, an ancient civilization that once existed in Fontaine.
Step 5: Collect the Book and the Strange Part
- Go to the left and pick up a book on the right side. The book contains some information about Topyas and their musical culture.
- Then, destroy a rock in front of you to pass through to the other side. You will see a strange part on a pedestal. Pick it up and examine it. It looks like a part of a machine or a device.
Step 6: Consult Katheryne
- Go back to Katheryne at Mondstadt and show her the book and the strange part. She will tell you that they are related to Topyas, an ancient civilization that once existed in Fontaine.
- She will also tell you that Topyas was known for its advanced technology and its obsession with music. They created many instruments and devices that could produce different sounds and effects.
- She will also tell you that Topyas disappeared mysteriously after a cataclysmic event that caused Fontaine to sink underwater.
Step 7: Return to Topyas
- Go back to Topyas, who is waiting for you near the portal in Merusea Village. He is a human who claims to be a descendant of Topyas. He is also interested in restoring their musical heritage.
- Show him what you learned from Katheryne. He will be impressed by your findings and give you a token that can activate the conch harp.
Step 8: Play the Conch Harp
- Go to the top of the conch harp and hit it with normal attacks. Then, absorb the crab’s ability by holding down your attack button. This will allow you to use charged attacks on water.
- Go to the middle part of the conch harp and hit it with charged attacks on the spot indicated by an orange circle. This will produce a sound wave that will resonate with the conch harp.
- Repeat this process until you play all four notes of the music score.
Step 9: Defeat the Enemies
After hitting the conch harp, some crab enemies will appear. Defeat them all to complete the quest.
You can use elemental reactions and combos to deal more damage and gain an advantage.
