With the addition of every new character in the world of Genshin Impact comes a new story quest for these characters. Version 2.7 of Genshin Impact introduced a new hydro bow-wielding hydro character Yelan who claims to be in the ministry of civil affairs but is classified as a non-entity on their list. In this Genshin Impact guide, we will give you a complete walkthrough of Yelan Story Quest and how to unlock the quest and rewards.
How to unlock the Yelan Story Quest in Genshin Impact
- Players must be of Adventure Rank 40 or above
- Completion of Ganyu’s story quest sea of clouds, sea of peoples
- Completion of archon quest Interlude chapter Act – 2, Perilous trial.
- 1x story key (can be obtained by completing 8 daily commissions).
Yelan’s story quest is further divided into 3 arcs. Follow the steps given below to complete the quest.
Seven-star Selection (Arc – 1)
- Teleport to Liyue harbor, Liyue then head toward the Yanshang teahouse.
- Converse with Uncle Tian (Tianshu)
- Teleport near Yuehai Pavilion to perform the inspection.
- Check the manifesto of the three candidates. Then report to Yelan.
- Teleport back to Yanshang teahouse and report the outcome of the inspection to Uncle Tian.
Arc – 1 Quest rewards
- Hero’s wit x 3
- Adventurer’s Exp x 400
- Mora x 24100
- Mystic Enhancement ore x 5
Candidature Analysis (Arc – 2)
Yelan does not seem particularly reassured by Zhiyi and decides to go down the wharf to speak to Bolai and others to find out how well he is rated by others.
- Teleport to North wharf to look for Bolai.
- Follow, and listen to Zhiyi and Linlang without getting caught.
- Go to the south wharf and talk to the people about Zhiyi.
- Go back to the Yanshang teahouse and check the manifesto.
- Teleport near black cliff forge to search for clues.
- Follow the footprints.
- Investigate the abandoned house.
Arc – 2 Quest rewards

- Mora x 34075
- Mystic Enhancement ore x 7
Forgone Conclusion (Arc – 3)
With Yelan’s advice traveler decide to announce that Zhiyi has passed the selection to make him lower his guard. Now, all that is left is to wait.
- Forward the time to 9:00 – 11:00 the following day.
- Go to Feiyun slope and follow Zhiyi.
- Head over to the Xinyue kiosk to investigate.
- Go to Xigu antiques to investigate.
- Meet Yelan at the Yanshang teahouse.
- Then head over to Qingxiu pool to investigate.
- Enter the underground ruins.
- Catch up with the suspicious ambassador.
- After leaving the domain, change the time to 8:00, the following day.
- Return to Yanshang teahouse.

Yelan Story Quest Domain Guide
There are four fiery spirits orbs that are scattered throughout the domain, these are used to lighten the lamp and activate the final puzzle:
- The first one can be found after going to the upper floor using the rock.
- The second one is located behind the door guarded by two vishaps.
- The third and fourth are located behind the sliding rock type mechanism. Follow the navigation bar in the game to locate them.
After lighting up the four lamps using fire orbs the final puzzle will activate, follow the steps given above in the image to solve the puzzle.
