During this time, Yelan can control her sprint direction and can end her rapid movement by using the Skill again. Amongst the ingredients here is the new tea, Dipped Dew, delivered from Qiaoying Village right to the Teahouse, which was then quickly fried together with freshly-caught river shrimp. The look is slight, the scent of distant tea, and the taste both tender and springy… Wait a moment. Why’s she coming over with that plate of chili?

Best Artifacts Build for Yelan in Genshin Impact

In the Genshin Impact Yelan guide, we will provide details for all the artifact build sets for Shenhe in the game.

Sub DPS Build

Yelan is a very powerful character that can mostly be played as a Sub-DPS as her kit revolves around that role and is even considered as an upgrade to a non-C6 Xingqiu, due to her frequent Hydro applications and higher damage. Yelan’s damage scale is on her HP% instead of the standard ATK%, so it is recommended to use HP% Sands. Other than HP% Sands she will use the usual Hydro DMG Bonus Goblet and a Crit Rate / Damage Circlet.

Yelan can be equipped with a myriad of powerful artifact sets that can boost her damage massively. Ideally, her Best-in-Slot artifact should be the Emblem of Severed Fate which can boost her Burst Damage by a huge margin and is the main source of her damage. Yelan can also be equipped with the composition of various 2-pc artifact sets.

Emblem of Severed Fate

  • Set Bonuses
  • 2-Piece Bonus
  • Energy Recharge +20%
  • 4-Piece Bonus

Increases Elemental Burst DMG by 25% of Energy Recharge. A maximum of 75% bonus DMG can be obtained in this way.

Emblem of Severed Fate

Emblem of Severed Fate is a powerful artifact set that can boost a character’s Elemental Burst DMG to a huge extent. The only restriction the artifact has is the ER% requirement to be viable on many characters, as of now their artifact is the best possible option for Yelan until a dedicated artifact set is released. In order to use the artifact to its max potential try to reach the threshold of at least 170% – 200% ER.

Noblesse Oblige

  • Set Bonuses
  • 2-Piece Bonus
  • Elemental Burst DMG +20%
  • 4-Piece Bonus

Using an Elemental Burst increases all party members’ ATK by 20% for 12s. The effect cannot stack.

Noblesse Oblige

The Noblesse Oblige 4-piece bonus is not really beneficial for Yelan but the 2-piece bonus gives increased Elemental Burst DMG, which can be utilized for forming Hybrid artifact sets. Most likely 2-piece Emblem of Severed Fate and 2-piece Noblesse Oblige, 2-piece Noblesse Oblige, and 2-piece Tenacity of the Millelith among others.

Heart of Depth

  • Set Bonuses
  • 2-Piece Bonus: Hydro DMG Bonus +15%
  • 4-Piece Bonus: After using an Elemental Skill, increases Normal Attack and Charged Attack DMG by 30% for 15s.
Heart of Depth

Tenacity of the Millelith

  • Set Bonuses
  • 2-Piece Bonus
  • HP +20%
  • 4-Piece Bonus
Tenacity of the Millelith

When an Elemental Skill hits an opponent, the ATK of all nearby party members is increased by 20% and their Shield Strength is increased by 30% for 3s. This effect can be triggered once every 0.5s. This effect can still be triggered even when the character who is using this artifact set is not on the field.

Hybrid Artifact Sets

Aside from the 4pc artifact set, you can also try for hybrid sets of 2pc as they are much easier to farm and usually have better substats than that of 4pc sets. For Yelan there are simply a lot of options, the main ones being 2pc Emblem of Severed Fate + 2pc Noblesse Oblige and 2pc Noblesse Oblige + 2pc Tenacity of the Millelith. These Hybrid sets are not very far behind the main 4pc set and if you can manage to get godly 2pc sets then use those, but do test your artifacts in the game on Yelan.

Artifact Damage Potential Ranking

With a very invested min-maxing, Yelan’s artifacts can be ranked in ther order:

4 pc Emblem of Severed Fate  > 2pc Emblem of Severed Fate + 2pc Noblesse Oblige = 2pc Noblesse Oblige + 2pc Tenacity of the Millelith > 2pc Noblesse Oblige +  2pc Heart of Depth

Artifact Stats Priority: Sub DPS

In order to bring the damage potential to the maximum for any character, min-maxing will always have the utmost importance. Yelan mainly uses her Elemental Burst to deal damage which simplifies what sub-stat should be prioritized. Aside from the general DPS stat, you should aim to clear the ER% threshold first, because in optimal rotations her burst is quite important.

Once ER% is not an issue then focus on boosting CR/CD/HP% as required. Yelan has high base stats but since she scales with HP% try to get some more from artifacts sub stats. Flower and Plume are always easier to farm so aim to procure those that have godly crit ratios.

Desired Substats: CR% AND CD% >HP% = ER%

Artifact TypeMain StatSub Stat Priority
FlowerHPCR%/CD% >HP%=ER%
PlumeATKCR%/CD% >HP%=ER%
SandsHP%CR%/CD% >HP%=ER%
GobletHydro DMG Bonus%CR%/CD% >HP%=ER%
CircletCR / CD%CR%/CD% >HP%=ER%

ER% requirement for Yelan

Yelan’s Main source of damage comes from her Elemental Burst, which allows her to perform multiple Hydro applications along with high damage. The ER% threshold for her Elemental Burst depends on what team comp Yelan is used in but to be on the safe side of things, try to aim for at least 150% – 200%. Yelan’s Best in slot weapons won’t have Energy Recharge as a sub-stat so all the ER% has to be acquired from artifacts substat, so farm and level up artifacts accordingly.

Best Weapons for Yelan in Genshin Impact

Aqua Simulacra is the signature weapon for Yelan and is one of the best weapons for her due to the weapon passive that is perfect for her. Most of the weapons require good substats from various artifacts as Yelan depends on more attributes than the average character. Polar Star is another great option for her but the passive is not that helpful. Among four-star weapons, Mouun’s Moon and Stringless are very powerful among the other weapons of that rarity and are much easier to obtain than five-star weapons. Therefore in this guide, we will provide the details for the best weapons for Yelan in Genshin Impact.

Weapon Ranking for Yelan
