Genshin Impact has recently released a brand new Archon Quest in Version 3.5 pertaining to the story of our main character, the Traveler and their Abyss sibling as we get to uncover more secrets about lore about Khaenri’ah. The new Quest is titled ‘’Caribert’’’where it picks up where it left off last time with us encountering Dainsleif once again, this time in Sumeru where we finally get more puzzle pieces about Khaenri’ah and the people who resided in the fallen nation. In this Genshin Impact guide, we will be helping you navigate through the Sumeru Archon Quest: ‘Caribert’ Chapter III: Act VI with a thorough walkthrough and also share special insight and thoughts about the Archon quest.
How to Unlock Sumeru Archon Quest Traveler Chapter III: ACT VI ‘Caribert’ in Genshin Impact
To unlock and have access to the Archon Quest ‘Caribert’ in Genshin Impact, players must:
- Be at Adventure Rank (AR) 35 and above.
- Complete the prerequisite requirements of finishing the previous Archon Quests‘Kasha Pulses, the Kalpa Flame Rises Chapter III: ACT V’and ‘Requiem of the Echoing Depths Chapter II: Act IV’

Part One: Destined Encounter
Masrur at Port Ormos is currently worrying himself sick over a letter with an unclear address.
- Talk to Masrur, an NPC who is located in Sumeru City in Sumeru by the docks.
- After talking to Masrur, wait until the next day in the Afternoon (16:00 – 18:00) time. Head to Djagar Tavern and talk to Kaeya there.
- Kaeya will then explain to the player and Paimon his situation and disclose his past a bit. Dainsleif will, later on, join the conversation and spill the whole truth about Khaenri’ah and will ask the Traveler and Paimon to join him somewhere. Players must go to the place, which Dainsleif mentioned.
- Players will find a house where they have to enter and investigate the surrounding items scattered around the house.
- Talk to Dainsleif and check out the situation outside.
- Once outside, players will encounter a group of enemies. Defeat the attacking monsters.
- Talk to Dainsleif again. He will explain the situation and lets you and Paimon know that he will be investigating the forest for a bit alone, asking you to stay put and keep watch.
- Go and light the bonfire and then talk to Paimon. Paimon will then assure you that she will keep watch while the Traveler sleeps.

Part Two: Fortune-Mocking Pedigree
As the night passes and you awaken next to the bonfire, you realize that Paimon is missing. As you search for her, you come upon a wandering father by chance.
- Note: At this point of the Quest, you will be locked into the story and hence cannot explore outside the borders of the Quest, teleport outside, or even have access to certain menus. If you do so, then the story will momentarily stop and reset back.
- Wake up and look for Paimon inside the house
- You will encounter a man named Eide. He shows a high rate of hostility. After talking to Eide he will allow you to enter his house.
- Go inside the house. You will notice a Hilichurl unconscious and lying on the bed. Eide reveals that it’s his son’s name ‘Caribert’ and asks for help to make medicine.
- Go outside and approach the Crafting Table. Synthesize the Nameless Taboo Medicine of the Royal Court.
- Afterwards, go inside the house and talk to Eide. He will explain that the medicine would need a blessing from the Archons.
- Go to the nearby Statue of The Seven and interact with it.
- After that, go inside the house and administer the dose of medicine to the Hilichurl (Caribert).
- As per Eide’s instructions, go to the waterfall to fetch some water. After fetching the water, go give Eide the water.
- Talk to Eide and discuss the conditions of Caribet. A group of enemies will spawn outside the house. Go outside and defeat the enemies.
- Talk to Eide again. He will propose another dose of the medicine to give to Caribet. Go outside and pick the Strange Mushrooms to make the dose of Medicine.
- Approach the Crafting Table again and synthesize the Nameless Taboo Medicine of the Royal Court. Finally, players go talk to Eide and then head to the Statue of the Seven to interact with it.

Part Three: A Lamenter at Fate’s End
The medicine meant to restore Caribert didn’t work quite as expected. During the process of remaking the medicine, you seem to find yourself beset by strange phenomena.
- After talking to Eide on the Statue of the Seven, both of you notice a Hilichurl heading somewhere. Both of you follow the Hilichurl to see where they are going.
- The Hilichurl goes deep into a cave till it reaches a cavern and goes inside. Follow the Hilichurl and head inside this mysterious cavern.
- Talk to Eide and continue exploring the vast place. The place is fairly straightforward, be sure to open all the chests scattered around.
- Once exploring, you will encounter the Fortune Lector. Defeat the Lector.
- Talk to Eide and leave the Cavern. Return to the house and check on Caribert.

Part Four: Portended Fate
The previous events might have been mysterious, but miraculous. Caribert’s consciousness has returned, and his mind is whole again. However, might this achievement bear a price yet unknown.
- Follow Eide to the forest again and into the mysterious cavern. Enter the cavern.
- Go to the mysterious statue.
- Return to Eide’s house and look for clues in the house.
- Caribert goes missing. Continue to search for Caribert around the forest.
- Talk to the Forest Rangers and ask them about Caribert.
- Follow the trails and use the clues to continue searching for Caribert. Talk to Eide afterwards.
- Talk to Dainsleif

Genshin Impact: In-Depth Review and Discussion of Sumeru Archon Quest Traveler Chapter III: ACT VI ‘Caribert’
The story takes place sometime after the events of the Sumeru Archon quest plot-line where we are initially sent to chat with Kaeya for some time. Even though stories like these have Dainsleif as our temporary traveling partner, both Dain and Kaeya and even Paimon take a backseat as the story progresses with only the Traveler present.
Kaeya and Danslief: Khaenri’ah Lore
This quest has solved some age-old questions and has debunked or confirmed theories about Kaeya’s origin and purpose in the whole main story of Genshin Impact. To give a brief summary of Kaeya’s lore, he is of Khaenri’an origin, where his father sent him to Mondstadt when he was a child claiming that he is their last hope of the fallen nation.
Players have waited in anticipation for Kaeya’s relevance in the whole main plot and finally, we have gotten some answers about his true nature. Kaeya is confirmed to be the descendent of the Founder of the Abyss Order, which means that he is EideAlberich’s descendent. This brings up more speculation that maybe Kaeya has been sent to Mondstadt by his father to both escape and keep a low profile to maybe one day rule the Abyss Order.
Kaeya denies any ties related to the Abyss Order and promptly leaves. Before that, we see an obvious tension between Kaeya and Dainsleif. To be truthful, it is very surreal and amazing to see these two characters, who have such lore and backstory about Khaenri’ah, interact with each other. Kaeya reveals about Dainsleif is a pure-blooded Khaenri’an and offered to chat sometime before leaving. Safe to say this can only entail further interactions with these two in the coming future.
Eide and Caribert
Even as NPCs, the story of the Origin of the Abyss Order starting with Eide has pulled on heartstrings with the saddened results of Caribert. Eide, as stated, is pure-blooded Khaenri’an and as such has been cursed with immortality. He revealed that the ones who are not pure-blooded have been cursed to be Hilichurls for the rest of their lives. His own son, Caribert who is half-blooded, is suffering from the consequences of the punishment bestowed upon them by the Celestia.
Caribert’s death and sufferings coupled with his own lover’s death have driven Eide to do what he had to in order to curse the Archons and Celestia. What’s more shocking is that the events of this story are of the Abyss sibling’s memories and it solidifies a timeline of how and when they joined the Abyss Order and became their ruler.
Final Thoughts
Despite being such a short quest, it has satisfied many lore enthusiasts with the mass information regarding Khaenri’ah and the Abyss sibling. Although the only issue that seems prominent is the lack of Kaeya and Dainsleif in the quest, it is not every day that important characters such as them interact and be part of the main storyline. Nevertheless, it seems like this is not the end of their interactions and it is certainly not the end of finding out about the Abyss siblings’ true goals.
