Genshin Impact has introduced a new patch version 3.5 and with it comes 2 new sorts of enemies related to The Abyss. These Enemies in particular are not currently available in the open world as of now and as such do not drop any sort of materials. They however appear in the new Archon Quest ‘’Caribert” and will frequently be present in the new Spiral Abyss rotations of Version 3.5.
In future patches, the enemies discussed today may be farmed by following the Adventurer’s Handbook. The new mobs are all classified as high-tier enemies which means it may prove to be difficult to fight especially if the bosses are put in the Spiral Abyss. Abyss Herald: Frost Fall
- Materials Dropped: None
- Classification: Abyss Order (Abyss Heralds)
- Damage inflicted: Cryo
Attacks
- Dark Frost Enchantment: The Frost Fall gains an enchantment of Dark Frost every time they use an attack. The probability of obtaining the enchantment starts at 0% and it increases by 20% when unshielded and then 27% when shielded. If the enchantment is obtained, the Abyss Herald’s attack will be imbued with dark frost. When an enchanted attack deals DMG to the player, the player will lose Stamina.
- Stance of Desolation: Performs Attacks with its blades, having different types of attack combinations based on the character’s distance and location.
- Melee Combo: If the player is less than 5.5m away, performs 2 consecutive slashes, dealing Cryo damage. While shielded, an upward slash may be performed as a finisher, dealing with Cryo DMG.
- Chase Combo: If the player is 5.5m or farther away, perform a lunging stab and 2 consecutive slashes, dealing Cryo DMG. While shielded, an upward slash may be performed as a finisher or replace the 2nd slash, dealing with Cryo DMG.
- Frigid Sweep: Charges before performing a wide-reaching circular slash, dealing AoE Cryo DMG. While shielded, this attack’s AoE is increased, and the DMG dealt is increased to 100% ATK.
- Wintry Rush: Slowly walks and brandishes its blade, then accelerates and rushes towards the player to perform a single slash, dealing Cryo.
- Dark Frost Icicle: Fires a projectile from its blade that deals with Cryo DMG. This attack is guaranteed to receive Dark Frost Enchantment but will reduce the current probability of obtaining the enchantment.
- The Dark Frost Falls: Leaps into the air and fires 2 waves of 4 projectiles at the ground, each dealing AoE Cryo DMG when it lands. This attack is guaranteed to receive
- Icy Dominion: Once the Frost Fall reaches 20% HP, the enemy will leap ups and then slams down into the group dealing AoE Cryo damage and it will enable a Cryo Shield, to enter a state with high Resistance to damage and interruption.
Tips to defeat Abyss Herald: Frost Fall in Genshin Impact Version 3.5
The Abyss Heralds all deal Elemental damage onto the characters and have a Shield up once their HP gets low enough. When the Shield is active, the Frost Fall will be infused in Cryo and his attacks become more enhanced, dealing more damage to the characters. It is recommended that players use a Pyro character in order to bring down the shield the quickest. Anemo, Geo, and Electro are also viable Elements to use on the Shield, but not so advisable since it may take a much longer time to get it down.
Black Serpent Knight: Rockbreaker Ax
- Materials Dropped: None
- Classification: Abyss Order (The Black Serpents)
- Damage inflicted: Geo
Attacks
- Dual Ax Combo: Performs 2 ax swings followed by a downward cleave with both axes, dealing with Physical DMG.
- Whirling Sweep: Combines its axes and performs 2 spinning sweeps, dealing AoE Physical DMG.
- Shield Slam: Combines its axes into a shield and slams it down in front of him, dealing 100% ATK as AoE Physical DMG, and protects itself against attacks from the front for a short period of time.
- Guardian Greatshield: If there is a Shadowy Husk nearby (Not Black Serpent Knights), it rushes towards the Shadowy Husk, combines its axes, and forms a large shield that blocks all DMG from the front. While the shield is active, the Black Serpent Knight will continuously adjust its position to protect its ally. The shield lasts indefinitely until the player manages to get behind it.
- Rock-breaking Rampage: If one of the Rockbreaker Ax’s attacks is fully absorbed by a player’s Shield, the attack will be interrupted and it will enter the Rockbreaking Rampage state for 11 seconds at the cost of 15% of its Current HP. Under this state, it will gain high Interruption Resistance.
- Frenzied Spin: Performs 5 spinning sweeps, dealing 80% ATK with the first 4 spins and 100% ATK with the final spin as AoE Geo DMG. This attack is only used under the Rockbreaking Rampage state if the player is less than 7 meters away
- Frenzied Charge: Charges and performs an upward cleave, dealing Geo DMG. This attack is only used under the Rockbreaking Rampage state if the player is over 7 meters away.
Tips to defeat Black Serpent Knight: Rockbreaker Ax in Genshin Impact Version 3.5
The Black Serpent Knight deals both Physical damage and Geo damage to the players. It has a high Geo resistance so it is advised that players do not bring Geo characters into the party when facing the Serpent.
