Genshin Impact version 3.3 has added a new permanent game mode called Genius Invokation TCG. To promote this game mode, Hoyoverse has announced a new event called Weekly Showdown. This event will run throughout the entire 6-week duration of version 3.3, and new challenges will be available each week. Players will need to complete the weekly challenges to qualify for rewards. This guide will help players participate in the Weekly Showdown and hopefully win some juicy rewards.
How to participate in the Genshin Impact Weekly Showdown event
The event is available from 7th December 2022. The event requires players to engage in TCG duels against NPCs. Winning the duel is only one-half of the requirement for qualifying for rewards.
- Complete the weekly Tavern Guest Challenge by approaching Prince at the Cat’s Tail
- After completing the challenge, share some challenge tips with the topics #Genius Invokation TCG Challenge Tips and #Tavern Guest to Hoyolab.

- Opponent’s deck and analysis of their skills (for example the cards often used by the opponent, card skills, etc.)

Sharing this post is what qualifies players for the rewards. Players should try to go as in-depth as possible analyzing each match. Basically, players are creating a guide for other players to follow. Being as helpful as possible will increase the chances of winning. Genshin Impact Weekly Showdown: Event Rewards
Among those who have shared their experience, 100 players will be selected each week. Each of them will receive a gift card worth 25 USD. The gift card could be Apple Gift Card or Google Play Gift Card depending on the player. In addition, 30 players among those who completed the challenge will be randomly selected to receive 60 Primogems each.

The ultimate goal of this event is to create awareness about the TCG. The more players play this game mode and talk about it, the more attention it will get. Hoyoverse is trying to make TCG an integral part of the overall Genshin Impact experience, and this event merely incentivizes players to pay attention to the rules and learn how to play the TCG. The monetary reward is pretty tempting since this is a gacha game that tries to make people spend money, rewarding players with money is a rather new concept.
