Clash of Clans breaks silence Builder Base Bonanza A/B testing chaos, promises June rollout for excluded players

End of chaos!

Story Highlights
  • Clash of Clans confirms Builder Base Bonanza and Mass Troops events were part of an A/B test.
  • Supercell confirms that players who missed the events will receive them later in June 2026.
  • Some players reportedly spent real money preparing for the event before being excluded.

After days of frustration, complaints, memes, and even petitions from the community, Clash of Clans has finally addressed the chaos surrounding the Builder Base Bonanza and Mass Troops events.

In an official statement, Supercell confirmed that the missing events were part of an A/B test, where one group of players received the events while another group did not. However, the company also clarified that players who missed out this time will get access to both events later in June 2026.

Following huge community backlash, Supercell admits communication could have been better

The announcement comes after huge backlash from the community, especially because many players felt completely left out while others enjoyed one of the best progression events Builder Base has ever seen. For context, Builder Base Bonanza is basically the Builder Base version of Hammer Jam.

Running from May 17 to May 31, 2026, the event massively boosts progression with 50% reduced upgrade costs and upgrade times across buildings, heroes, walls, and even Star Laboratory research. On top of that, you also get a 4x Star Bonus alongside special event tasks offering progression rewards.

Of course, there were no issues with the event, and definitely an amazing invite to all those who weren’t big fans of Builder Base. But the problem started when a portion of players realized the event simply never appeared for them.

The frustration spread quickly across socials, especially on Reddit, and it exploded. We had everything: some players mocked the situation, some joked about A/B testing for “purchases”, some criticised the planning, while others even joined a petition to change management and monetization of CoC.

One player in particular revealed they spent money preparing for Builder Base Bonanza before finding out they were part of the excluded test group. They called the situation “unacceptable” and even considered quitting the game and requesting refunds before Supercell’s latest response calmed things down slightly.

Well, to Supercell’s credit, the company admitted communication around the tests could have been handled better. For now, at least, the good news is that excluded players will still get their chance to enjoy the Builder Base Bonanza later this June.
