Xilonen is an upcoming 5-star Geo character in Genshin Impact, set to be released in Version 5.1, around October 2024. As a sword-wielder hailing from Natlan, Xilonen is designed as a versatile support character, often compared to Kazuha for her ability to enhance team performance by reducing enemy resistance and boosting allies’ elemental damage. Her kit revolves around providing buffs based on elemental diversity in the team, making her a strong Geo support character. In this guide, we will break down Xilonen in detail, talk about her kit, find out her best artifacts and build, and more about Genshin Impact.
Let us dive into her character details, kits, best team, and weapons so we can understand how she works.
Genshin Impact Xilonen Guide: Kit Explained
Xilonen’s gameplay centers around her Elemental Skill, which features the Nightsoul mechanic, a signature trait shared by other characters from Natlan. This mechanic allows her to transform into a Leopard Spirit, enhancing her speed and providing various buffs based on her team’s elemental composition.

Normal Attack: Ehecatl’s Roar | Xilonen’s basic attacks involve standard sword strikes, with Plunging Attacks scaling off DEF rather than ATK. Her Charged Attack is unique, as it involves a backward kick that adds mobility. In the Nightsoul’s Blessing state, her normal attacks deal with Geo DMG that scales with DEF; other elements cannot replace this infusion. While in this state, she cannot perform her Charged Attack. |
Elemental Skill: Yohual’s Scratch | Xilonen’s Elemental Skill, Blade Roller, causes her to dash forward, dealing Geo DMG and granting Nightsoul Points. This transitions her into the Nightsoul’s Blessing State, which lasts 9 seconds. During this state, she gains three Samplers that reduce the Elemental RES of nearby enemies, adjusting to the elements of her party members. Her movement and climbing speed also increase, and she can enter the Ocelot Form for rapid leaps while climbing. |
Elemental Burst: Ocelotlicue Point | Xilonen unleashes AoE Geo DMG to nearby enemies, with the damage scaling based on her DEF. The effects of her burst vary depending on her Samplers: If 2 or more Source Samples change elements, Xilonen will heal nearby active characters based on her DEF. If fewer than 2 Source Samples change elements, her burst will hit two additional times, increasing the total damage deal |
Xilonen’s Passives
Xilonen has three passives all of which revolve around her Elemental Skill.
Night Realm’s Gift: Blessing of Forge-Fire | Xilonen consumes Phlogiston to maintain her Nightsoul’s Blessing form once her Nightsoul points are depleted. Switching to Xilonen from a character in sprinting, swimming, or certain Talent-based movement modes grants her 20 Nightsoul points and activates Nightsoul’s Blessing for 4 seconds Activating Xilonen’s Elemental Skill extends Nightsoul’s Blessing by 9 seconds. In Natlan, she won’t consume Stamina while climbing in this state. |
Netotiliztli’s Echoes | In Nightsoul’s Blessing, Xilonen’s attacks are enhanced by her Source Samples. If 2+ Source Samples change elements, she gains 25 Nightsoul points per enemy hit (once every 0.1 seconds). If fewer than 2 change, her damage increases temporarily. |
Portable Armored Sheath | If Xilonen’s Nightsoul Points max out during Nightsoul’s Blessing, she triggers an effect like her Nightsoul Burst. Additionally, her DEF increases when any party member activates a Nightsoul Burst. |

Genshin Impact Xilonen Guide: Best in-slot weapon
The best weapon for Xilonen will be the Peak Patrol Song, a 5-star weapon that will be released with her. It has a def main stat and is a support-based weapon.
For f2p players, her best in the slot is the Cinnibar Spindle, a time-limited event weapon that was given to us for free in the 2.3 update event of Genshin Impact “Shadows Amidst Snowstorms”

and lastly the Flute of Ezpitzal. It is a 4-star craftable weapon that can be easily accessible in Natlan.
Genshin Impact Xilonen Guide: Best Team Comps
Xilonen benefits from a flexible elemental team setup, with a focus on elemental resonance and energy efficiency. By pairing her with geo characters like Zhongli or Albedo, she can reduce her energy needs and provide strong team support.
In a Pyro team, Bennett and Xiangling shine due to their healing, buffing, and off-field damage potential. When using Hydro supports like Xingqiu or Yelan, Xilonen can enhance the team’s ability to apply elemental reactions. Electro supports like Fischl and Cryo characters like Rosaria also complement Xilonen’s kit with off-field damage.
In geo-focused teams, such as those involving Navia or Itto, Xilonen fits well with other geo characters, providing a versatile approach that caters to energy needs, shielding, and particle generation. Her healing and buff potential makes her a flexible asset in a variety of team compositions.
Genshin Impact Xilonen Build Guide: Artifacts to use
For Xilonen’s artifact set, use the Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City. This set relies on teammates and requires Xilonen to be off-field for the two-piece effect, which regenerates 6 Elemental Energy when a nearby party member triggers a Nightsoul Burst. The four-piece effect, however, requires Xilonen to be on-field. After she triggers a reaction, all nearby party members gain a 12% elemental damage bonus for the involved elements for 15 seconds. If Xilonen is in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state, the bonus increases to 28% for 20 seconds.
If you haven’t farmed the Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City yet, you can use the Golden Troupe or Husk of Opulent Dreams as alternatives. Golden Troupe boosts Elemental Skill damage, while Husk of Opulent Dreams provides a defense boost and geo damage bonus.
Final Thoughts
Xilonen is an amazing support who is finally bringing the geo element back to the meta. She will synergize well with Natlan characters and other past DPSs. She can use the skates in her Nightsoul state, which makes exploration in Natlan easy. So, in the end, she is a great unit to have on your team.
