Island Times: Easy Life Gameplay Basics
The Island Times: Easy Life game will give the vibes of a typical pastoral society, where life is based on gathering, farming, and domestication of animals. The basics include expanding your land and then buying farmlands to grow veggies like beets, carrots, cabbages, etc. The initial stages would also contain several quests that return decent rewards after completion.
There is a movement stick on the screen which helps in navigating the protagonist throughout the area with ease. Shops and markets are available to purchase required items and also sell your farm’s produce respectively. By moving near the water body, you can also catch one fish at a time, and sell them in bulk to get a lot of money at once.
To collect the produce, you just need to hover over the glowing icons on the screen, and they will be added to your backpack. You may add items to your backpack as much as you want as it has a very decent volume. You can sell the items from your backpack directly, or store them in chests for future use. Needless to say, the best part of this game, besides being a casual one, is its pixelated graphics. This gives it such a relaxing environment to play, without any complexities.
Island Times: Easy Life Beginners Guide Tips and Tricks
Here are some major tips and tricks that I wish someone had told me before I started venturing into the wilderness of the remote island:
1. Buy enough Land
Land is that resource, without which there wouldn’t be any debate or discussions. Likewise, you need land to build your farm on to start your journey in the game. Initially, there would be several plots of empty land available, and that would be enough for the time being. But for expanding your territory, you need new plots of land, and you can purchase them when required, for a hefty amount of coins, so make sure you have them ready.
2. Prioritise completing the Quests
The initial stages would also make you complete several quests one by one so that you can build the basic infrastructures of a farm, and also earn some initial boost of coins. Hence, in the initial stages, try to do whatever the quests tell you to. Completion of quests also helps levelling up.
3. Grow enough food for selling
Agriculture is the basic activity to do in this game. So from the beginning itself, buy farming land for specific vegetables. Plow the land, sow the seeds, water them, and collect the produce when they reap.
Each vegetable has a specific price in the market, so make sure to sell the profitable ones more often to make more money. You may also plant sprinklers from the shop in the middle of the fields that would automatically water the plants when needed. Just plant them in the middle.
4. Practice apiculture
You may find apiculture structures (apiary) in the shop. Apiculture is the maintenance of artificial beehives. Although each beehive might cost a few decent coins, once you buy a decent amount of them, you can sell the produced honey for a very high price (compared to other natural products like vegetables and fish). Each apiary takes a fair amount of time to produce honey, so make sure you have at least 3 or 4 of them primarily. You can also plant flowers near the apiaries to boost the production.
5. Rear animals and sell their produce
Farm animals such as cattle, sheep, chickens, pigs, and ostriches are also available in the game. They do not cost much, and roam around freely on the farm, periodically dropping their produce on the ground. The animal produce can also be sold in the market, as well as stored in the chest as required. However, produce from animals like sheep and pigs is better off sold, since they return a fair amount of coins.
Also, if you collect an adequate amount of produce from each animal, (say at least 1000 eggs from chickens), you collect a star, and the production speed of that animal species doubles itself. You can collect the animal produce by lifting the animals when you get close to them, hovering nearby when they have dropped it on the ground, or getting them collected by someone else.
6. Go for Fishing or set up fish traps
The area of the farm is surrounded by water. Hence, fishing is also an activity that can be practiced here. You can go towards the left or right edge of the landmass, and opt to fish. Initially, it might be difficult for you to fish due to the mechanism of fishing. When the fish gets caught in the fishliner, a meter appears on the screen. Try to control and match the green part of the meter with the image of the moving fish.
If you can do it successfully, you will catch the fish. Fishes can also be sold in the market at a decent price. You can also set automatic fishing traps on the shores, to catch and supply a fish at a fixed interval of time, which can be collected at any time.
Also, just like animal produce, if you catch enough fish and your fishing level increases, you get several advantages of double produce from the fishing traps, and the fish can be caught directly while doing manual fishing.
7. Have enough goblins and drones
Goblins assist you with every single task on the farm. From plowing lands to sowing seeds, watering them, and collecting the animal produce. Although they cost a lot of price in the shop, having them comes in handy, as they also collect produce and coins when your device is off.
There is also a cheaper alternative, a drone, which can only collect produced vegetables, or animal and fish products from the ground. In the initial stages, try to have at least two from each of these. However, don’t entirely leave the job up to them. Whenever you are opening the game, engage yourself in some work too.
8. Do not overcrowd your farm
Although it is good to have many fishing traps, farmlands, and animals roaming on your farm, the truth is too much of them isn’t good either. Yes, they can help in earning money, but they also slow down the production. Say you have only two goblins working on the fields. It would be hard for them to manage so many animals, fishnets, and farmlands. Overcrowd your farm only when you have a fair number of goblins and drones.
9. Store in your Backpack or the chest at home
As said earlier, the products can be added to both the home’s chest, as well as the backpack. Both have a good amount of space available. However, only keep items you want to sell in your backpack. Store the rest at your home’s chest. When you feel you have stored a lot in that chest, sell from the chest too!
10. Watch ads if necessary
Advertisements are an integral part of this game, even when you are playing, they appear at the bottom of your screen. However, they are helpful in some way or the other. You can win several rewards if you watch an ad. Costly items like Goblins, drones, and several decor items can be achieved if you watch an ad once.
