Mini DAYZ 2 Beginners Guide with Tips and Tricks

How to see through this strategic game?

Mini DayZ 2 is the sequel of the post-apocalyptic pixel survival game, Mini DayZ by Bohemia Interactive. The story follows the cliché things you’d expect from any survival game: A plague over the entire world, the downfall of humanity, and of course, overcoming and surviving dangers. It does, however, build up well over time and some stuff happens you may want to follow. The gameplay, however, is on a whole different level of uniqueness as you are part of a dangerous pixel world that shows no mercy to the weak. To heighten your odds of survival, we’ve put together this Mini DAYZ 2 guide that will share some tips and tricks on how to be prepared for anything.

Getting started

You play as Boris, the saviour of the story that, after surviving from the brink of death from a helicopter crash find yourself on unknown and dangerous territory. This is where the tutorial will guide you through the basics of how to fight and provide for yourself. Use the joystick to move around, sneak button for cover, reload button to reload equipped firearms, pick up a button to pick up ground items and exit button to leave a location. Follow this closely as we shall now dive into the things you will need to know before venturing into the unknown.

After finishing the tutorial, you’ll immediately be crowned leader of your own camp, where you’ll have to start taking care of your precious resources, dependent survivors and towers. We’ll individually talk about all of these so you understand what they have to offer.

Camp

After finishing the tutorial, you’ll immediately be crowned leader of your own camp, where you’ll have to start taking care of your precious resources, dependent survivors and towers. We’ll individually talk about all of these so you understand what they have to offer.

Storage

This is where all your valuable resources (Food, Materials) stored. While these can’t be stolen, you do want to upgrade them to keep storing more much-needed items.

Power supply

More buildings mean more power consumption, which is why you should keep upgrading the Power Supply. More upgrade options for buildings will also become available the more you upgrade this tower.

Crafting Workshop

This is the place to be for crafting important equipment that will keep you alive on your journey, which is why upgrading this is a top priority. Unlocking more blueprints means more gear to defend yourself with and consistent raiding.

Radio Station

This specific structure brings in more survivors to the camp, which in turn means more raid possibilities and more loot for upgrading towers.

Living Quarters

Morale is just as important as hunger because it’s what keeps your survivors going into raids. The Living Quarters is what keeps their morale up so they can live to see another day.

Watchtower

The Watchtower expands the global map so more raid options become available. While not essential until you bored of the current locations, it’s still a much-needed tower to expand further later on.

Quarantine

Sick survivors move to quarantine to get rid of the infection that plagues during a raid. Be sure to upgrade this to get that infection out faster.

Farm

Basically, the energy needed to both raid and auto raid a location on the global map. The food it produces is essential for attempting a raid, so keep it upgraded to produce faster and get back into action!

Repair Station

The Repair Station is where you can repair all your damaged equipment so they’ll be good to go with them another raid. If you want more repair options, keep this one upgraded when you can.

Hospital

With every encounter with an infected, you will lose health, which if not kept in check, could lead to fatal damage resulting in you getting transferred to the Hospital. You will also have to heal up every survivor after a raid to keep them alive, so be quick to upgrade the Hospital for the extra slots you will need to heal them up at a time.

Raids

Raiding a location requires navigating to the Global Map and either manually investigating the area by pressing the location and selecting “Raid” or automatically raiding it by pressing “Auto Raid” which will, of course, require more Food and time, but save you the trouble of (re)visiting a location. No matter which you choose, you will come across both enemies and gain supplies to invest in upgrades for your base.

Item Break down

Breaking down an item means converting it to a resource (food, materials), etc. for later investment. Should you lack some material and have unimportant items hanging around your storage, this option is a good choice.

Inventory

Mini Dayz 2 guide

If a survivor is low on health or bleeding to death, they can eventually fall unconscious. Should this happen you will have to wait for the Resurrection to complete before they can be put back into action. As a tip, you should probably not let this happen by always keeping their health up with a Blood Bag or hospital visit, even if the latter seems too timely.

Mini DAYZ 2 Beginners Guide: Tips and Tricks

As you saw, other than the everlasting safety of the camp, there are still a few things to take note of which when you memorize will warn if not prevent you from doing something you shouldn’t have. Be sure to also take note of the following things below:

1. Try to mostly Auto Raid

It may require more time and provide less action than actual Raids, but it’s recommended to Auto Raid. Also be sure to afterwards read the “ Raid Report” to understand why your survivor may be injured or how dangerous the location is.

2. Keep your health up

It has been said many times, but this is extremely recommended as should you die, you lose all your looted items and have to wait for a while to get back into action with that character. A band-aid on its own might not heal, but it’ll stop consistent bleeding.

3. Always reload

Should you have found or crafted a firearm, It’s best to always keep your gun loaded. To load it drag it from your inventory to the weapon slot and to reload it, tap the reload button when at a location.

4. Save your shots if possible

Ammo isn’t something to spray around carelessly, so keep your aim sharp and steady, which is best if you’re remaining still while shooting a hostile. Also, try to switch to your melee to conserve ammo as you scavenge the location for recourses.

5. Raiding tactfully

Mini Dayz 2 guide

The most powerful defence in your arsenal is probably the sneak feature, which allows you to tactfully sneak around your enemies. For insurance, keep them out of your view (circle) and sneak up in the grass if possible. Should this all fail you either gun it or run it, your choice!

6. Survive!

The final tip is to survive and the trick to this is your own effort, tactics and perseverance in doing so. Scavenge what you can and become the greatest leader of your own camp that brings hope into his followers!
