Everything you need to know about currencies in Mortal Kombat: Onslaught!

Mortal Kombat: Onslaught, a new role-playing game in the popular Mortal Kombat series will release globally for mobile devices in the first quarter of 2023. This game is similar to one of the most well-known mobile games, Raid: Shadow Legends which combines combat action with a fully developed cinematic story. For many gacha-type RPG games, the currency is the main aspect that players need to progress and do things in the game. Here’s our Mortal Kombat: Onslaught Currency guide tackling the current currencies available for players in the early access of the game and where would they be used.

Introducing the Currencies in Mortal Kombat: Onslaught

Currently, there are a total of five different main currencies that are present and are usable in the current state of the game. Each currency has different values and different uses for the players to progress through the game.

Here are the five different currencies that players would need to collect and spend:

1. Koins

Koins are the main in-game currency for the game. We could say that it is the base currency that players will mostly use for so many different stuff. Koins are used in many different things like upgrading heroes, upgrading gears, and even replacing the gear of heroes. This is the main currency that even though is rewarded aplenty, still seems that it can never truly be enough.

2. Krystals

Krystals are the premium currency of the game. This is the main currency of pay-to-win players that would buy their way out of grinding to be strong. Krystals are used in very useful things such as buying different other currencies. This means that you can almost use Krystals when you need anything.

3. Skull Orbs

Skull Orbs is the currency that handles the gacha aspect of Mortal Kombat: Onslaught. You can trade skull orbs to summon in the pull system of the game where you can get in the range of a common useless gear to a very rare five-star character having no guarantees which are which you get will probably mean you will need to stack up on skull orbs if you are planning to pull out a strong character you want to use.

4. Character Exp

Character exp is one of the most important currencies that handles the real-time progression of the game. This is the currency that players would need to use to upgrade or level up their heroes to make them stronger. Without character exp available the player will get stuck in levels that house strong enemies. Even how rare your character is and how strong their gears are being under-leveled will never lead them to victory.

5. Arena Medals

Arena Medals are mid to late-game currencies. These act similarly to Krystals but are a bit more limited in their choice of currencies and perks to be traded up for. Players can gather these arena medals only by fighting and ranking up in the arenas. Here competitive players with very good gear and characters will be pitting up against your very own team.
