The new patch finally brings the option to play Pokémon Unite in Offline mode for iOS and Android users. In this post, we will be talking about the newly introduced Offline mode in the game and how players can access the Offline mode. We will also be talking about the list of features that will be missing in the Offline mode.
How to access the Offline mode in Pokémon Unite
When the Start Screen appears after the game is done loading, players can now see an Offline Mode button at the upper-right side of the screen above the log-out option.
Players can directly use this button to open an Offline mode of the game to access the offline features. Also, when the game detects that players have no internet connection they will be prompted with an option to reconnect or use Offline Mode.
Features of the Pokémon Unite offline mode
1. No Multiplayer in Offline Mode
Players will have no way to play with their friends or other people while in the Offline Mode. Even if Players are connected to a working internet connection they will join a different Offline instance of the game altogether.
2. CPU controlled Teammates and Enemies
Players are limited to playing with CPU-controlled teammates and opponents in the Offline Mode. Moreover, Players are also not able to set the number of bots present in the game like they are able to in a typical Vs AI match in the Online Mode.
3. Unlocked Pokémons
In the Offline Mode, Players can play with any Pokémon in the Pokémon Unite roster, even if they do not own the Pokémon License of certain Pokémons. Offline Mode is a great way for new players to get familiar with the Pokemons before purchasing their Unite Licenses as regrettably, there is no way to preview the moves of a Pokémon before battle and Players need Licenses to use the respective Pokémon.
4. Equip Unlocked Holowear
Players who have already unlocked or purchased Holowear online will be available to use them in offline mode as well. Players cannot make any purchases in the Offline Mode; hence they have to reconnect normally in the Online mode to purchase in-game cosmetics. Any Holowear which has not been unlocked yet will be greyed out in the menu in the Offline Mode.
5. Unlocked Battle Items
Players usually need to increase their Trainer level in order to unlock Battle Items in the Online Mode. However, in the Offline Mode, all Battle Items will be unlocked for the players to use even if they have not reached the required Trainer level to unlock them.
6. Unlocked Held Items
In the Online Mode, Players need to buy the Held Items from the in-game Aeos Emporium Shop and upgrade them manually using Enhancers. However, just like the Battle Items, all the Held Items will be unlocked for the Players to use in the Offline Mode and will have a grade level of 20. This works out great for players who want to try a different build and test it in the Offline Mode.
7. Tutorial Prompts Present
As there is no way to access any tutorial info while in offline mode, important alerts and points of interest will pop up as players play the game which is great for reminding them of the game’s mechanics.
8. Only Standard 5v5 Unite Battles
Players can only play the standard 5 vs 5 Unite Battles while in the Offline Mode. Other Modes like the Quick Battle or the Practice Area are not available while in the Offline Mode.
9. No Rewards and Penalties
Players will not be receiving any Aeos Coins of EXP as a reward for completing matches in the Offline Mode. Moreover, Players will also not get penalized in any way for quitting a match mid-game or going AFK.
10. Match Stats do not count
Players who were hoping to farm win rate in the Offline Mode will be disappointed as winning or losing matches in this mode does not affect the Battle Record in the Online Mode.
